We've worked our way through the usual and now looking for some recommendations please.

Yep really something gripping and easy to get into

Didn't like Succession. Bank Robbers was boring. Done Ozark etc. don't like sci fi or vampires

Any suggestions gratefully received

Another vote for Schitts Creek, and Virgin River. Both really good, easy watching.

@Crinkle77 Just came on to say the same thing. Absolutely love Hart of Dixie. This has been my summer watch.
This was thanks to a mumsnetter who recommended it.
Love all the characters

I also started watching after a recommendation on here too 😁

The affair. It tells the story from two different perspectives so that can be a bit annoying but it's a good drama

Purplehonesty2 · 22/08/2022 20:46

Anna delvay (sp) documentary?

ponyclub1980 · 22/08/2022 22:46

Queen of the south - the best series I've ever seen with the best ending I've ever seen

Cobra Kai close second

Enjoy!!!

Valhalla17 · 22/08/2022 22:48

The last Kingdom

Is that on Netflix now? I've been wanting to see it for ages, but we don't have Sky.

RiverSkater · 22/08/2022 23:58

13 lives Ron Howard Film.

Very good!

LemonSwan · 23/08/2022 00:10

I am finding apple+ incredible atm.
Ted lasso is hilarious and I usually hate comedies.
Five days at memorial has me gripped.

Not finding anything good on Netflix except did watch:
Trainwreck: woodstock was a horrifying watch. Not exactly feel good but just well a trainwreck you can’t look away from.
I killed my dad is also well made. Might not be your style. True crime but a twister.

Enjoyed The Baby on sky. Horror comedy but in a tear jerker feel good way.

Prime Video - Thirteen lives was excellent

Disney + - Dopesick is a work of art

You can tell I like dramatised real life inspired series. There’s a lot of good ones out there atm.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 23/08/2022 00:18

Only Murders in the Building on Disney Plus is brilliant

BeanieTeen · 23/08/2022 00:19

Dopesick and The Dropout on Disney+

Hels20 · 23/08/2022 00:21

Unbelievable - great. I didn’t like the first episode too much but stuck with it and loved it from about 10 mins in to second episode.

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 23/08/2022 00:22

I thought schitts crrek was...schitt. Bit hard to say without knowing your taste. Have you seen ozarks and the glitch? Another vote too for queens gambit. Also umbrella academy.

LemonSwan · 23/08/2022 00:37

And another prime one - Nine perfect strangers was very good. Quite gripping

stillvicarinatutu · 23/08/2022 00:50

Stranger things
Virgin river
The good place (funny)
Queens gambit
Sex education (funny)
The end of the fucking world (funny)
Afterlife (funny / touching)
Maid
The haunting of hill house
Black mirror
Behind her eyes
The dutchess (v funny )
Midnight mass
Lucifer

All brilliant!

AuntTwacky · 23/08/2022 00:59

Virgin River 🧡

avamiah · 23/08/2022 00:59

@stillvicarinatutu

Loved Maid but you must of seen Rogue Agent on Netflix?

Totally unmissable about a scam artist based in London who picked on the wrong woman to scam.

Fabulous and a must watch .

bellabelly · 23/08/2022 01:10

The Last Kingdom is fantastic. Emily in Paris too.

bellabelly · 23/08/2022 01:11

If you haven't already seen Stranger Things, then that's the best!

Hels20 · 23/08/2022 01:34

I see The Last Kingdom frequently mentioned on these types of threads and it had great reviews but I couldn’t get into it - although I only watched first episode. Should I persevere? I liked Outlander, Poldark, and Game of Thrones (although never loved GoT and only watched it for the cultural references).

Beebumble2 · 23/08/2022 01:56

Rogue Agent on Netflix. James Norton plays a con man. Based on a true story.

constantindigestion · 23/08/2022 02:33

Schitts creek took me a few episodes to get into but worth it
My friend has just watched Uncoupled and recommended it
If you have Apple TV can recommend Ted Lasso and Loot
Dramas : Under the Banner of Heaven , The Bear , Severance and The thing about Pam. Have heard good reports about Blackbird and Yellowjackets
