@BIWI Yesterday’s was a physics one (Heat) which is an area I have quite a bit of knowledge in. It started “In (14 letter blank)” which I guessed as thermodynamics from some format/context lower down. Should have got it in 2 really.

It may also have helped that we'd had the Second Law of Thermodynamics a few weeks ago.

Yes that too! They do love a bit of physics. Which is fine with me, although undoubtedly not with everyone!

ErrolTheDragon · 10/08/2022 11:40

We hadn't had any physical sciences ones for nearly 3 weeks after a bit of a glut. I really don't think 'they like' anything, it's random.

MissedItByThisMuch · 10/08/2022 12:00

No, I do realise that, it was a joke.

I solved today's Redactle (#125) in 41 guesses with an accuracy of 41.46%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I prefer physics though.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/08/2022 12:08

I prefer chemistry - so thermodynamics and heat fine by me too.Grin

MissedItByThisMuch · 10/08/2022 12:54

Chemistry good too. And maths.

BIWI · 10/08/2022 13:17

No, no, no!!!

A nice bit of English Literature please Grin

Yes - it was the 14 letter word in the first sentence that made me think “thermodynamics”, and then “heat” seemed like a sensible guess.

If in doubt, it’s usually physics. Or stamp collecting.

Dreikanter · 10/08/2022 15:52

Thank you. Never heard of it!

Ccoffee · 10/08/2022 18:00

15, but googled when I hit 14, and had got the first word but had exhausted my ideas on the second. Wouldn't have got without google.

Was always my worst subject so did really badly today and resorted to Google after way too many guesses!

ErrolTheDragon · 10/08/2022 19:28

Figured out the thing, but couldn't think of one with the right number of letters so found a list. Not sure if I'd heard of this one or not tbh. Then I typed both of the words in at once Hmm

If I hadn't counted the number of letters in the second word wrong I'd have done that in 3 🙄
