Oh no. We were just talking about him yesterday. I was saying he was my favourite carry on guy still, and the new railway children isn’t worth watching for me because I only watch the old one for Bernard Cribbins.
What a brilliantly funny guy.

I watched the railway children for the first time last week. I liked the character and googled him. I didn't realise it was him from CBEEBIES 🙁

Just heard on TV he was 96 !

Just read this on BBC - said he was 93. 96 or 93, a life well-lived.

I know it's weird but I was scared of him as a child. I think he was grumpy on Play Away or something.

Oh no, Right said Fred was my daughter’s favourite song for a while when she was little.

I often use one of his lines in Fawlty Towers - 'this televisual feast'. He played a guest who was an even bigger twat than Basil, and it was a sublime pairing.

Such a wonderful actor. The Christmas episode of Jack's Boat was particularly moving.

I’m usually fairly ambivalent about celebrities dying, but I am sad about this. He was brilliant in Doctor Who. Apparently he was part way through filming the latest special so not sure what they will do about that.
