If the advice were the same to the other partner, then there is a point - adoring the other person helps both be happy and find one another lovely. However ‘worship’ is quite a loaded term and quelle surprise it’s the woman needing to do the worshipping.

It's from a book published in the 70s by a woman born in the 30s. Even taking the era into account I would say she was way out of touch. I grew up in the seventies and neither my mother nor any of her friends back then would have thought such sentiment was anything but laughable.
