Aside from buying a house fancy holiday etc, I'd love to go on sites like just giving and donate money for people to reach their targets
I also love random acts of kindness
Reading an article and the person that won the 190 euromillons and thinking what I could do with all that money

I would see if I could provide salaries for ta's to the local primary schools to work in the youngest few classes to support the children who desperately need 1 to 1s but have yet to get a diagnosis/ehcp

This would be amazing! Living through this, the fight for an EHCP and the support our children so desperately need is an exhausting one!

I was in Cornwall last year and saw lots of run-down homes for sale. I have a mini-dream of buying the lot, renovating them to a good standard and then selling half at a reasonable cost to young people from the local community and running half as halfway houses for women and children escaping abuse.

RoseslnTheHospital · 23/07/2022 22:43

I'd use some to build properly affordable-rent housing on sites that were disused rather than on countryside. I'd make them energy efficient and have lots of planting and greenery and public transport/walking/cycle links.

I'd also want to fund really affordable loans or even just grants to local businesses with an ethical and environmentally aware stance. I'd also provide support for businesses to employ people with disabilities.

HerRoyalNotness · 23/07/2022 22:44

Set up a foundation for uni scholarships. Maybe linked to a specific sport we’re i combed with as where I am there aren’t a lot of scholarships on offer. I’d also give our club a shit load to finishes their grounds and fund tours and development etc for the next 10yrs

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 23/07/2022 22:44

Yep also living through this.

Louise0701 · 23/07/2022 22:45

Donate as much as I could to SALT; a hugely under funded yet desperately needed resource and one which has a huge impact on Children’s outcomes.

SavingsThreads · 23/07/2022 22:47

Employ a masseuse for me.

Give shitloads to womens refuges and womensaid.

Deadringer · 23/07/2022 22:49

Assuming i won a massive amount, I would buy a small apartment block and give each of my 5 dc a home of their own. Or buy a very large house and convert it into flats for them. I would help out my wider family, some of whom are struggling financially. I would also look into some charities, but one thing that I would really like to do is buy a few houses/flats and donate them to the fostering aftercare service, in my area there is almost nothing for young people who leave the care system, I would love to provide them with a safe place to stay until they can stand on their own two feet.

Fridaysgirl17 · 23/07/2022 22:49

I'd like to donate to various Autism charities & to my nephew's school as it's a small special needs school but absolutely amazing.

StarDolphins · 23/07/2022 22:50

I would give 99% of it away to charity.

I have no desire to change my life drastically & I don’t do the lottery anyway but I would love to give to my chosen charity.

LoisPlane · 23/07/2022 22:50

I would love to make a huge donation to the dc's schools. Like £1m each. You'd hardly miss it after winning the Euros would you?

Also, does anyone remember At Home with the Braithwaites? I'd love to do that - set up my own charity where anybody could apply for funds for any reason.

chipsandpeas · 23/07/2022 22:52

id love to say id help people like on justgiving etc but im too cynical for that shit but i would help out friends

jojobacandy · 23/07/2022 22:56

I would love love love to build a company up that allows anyone who wants to work but can't because of a disability for example or having young dc to work and needs different hours or needs particular adjustments made for their life.

FloodTheBathroom · 23/07/2022 22:56

If i won £195million I'd want to find a way to help my nearest hospital pay enough staff to operate properly for as long as I could.
I would do all I could to ease street homelessness in my city
And I'd buy myself a detached house.

ThisIsNotThePostYourLookingFor · 23/07/2022 22:57

I would pay for a specialist childrens cancer centre near my local hospital. Bring all the big machines over from Florida that people always need funding to go over for.

ChinBristles · 23/07/2022 22:58

After I had done loads of altruistic things...I'd buy a particular (unethical) business which I HATE and then burn it to the ground.

YellowPlumbob · 23/07/2022 22:59

Set up a foundation for women to go to college to get Level 3 qualifications to apply to Uni with.

There is almost none available, it varies wildly by college and the year I did at college broke me, financially, physically and mentally. College paid for the day care for my toddler, but not my primary aged DDs. It cost me all of my Income Support, every week. I was two stone underweight by the end of it.

Then I got to Uni and was swimming in scholarships, bursaries and childcare grants.

Not all of us have the chance to go when we are young, and then we have the same (almost zero) chance of going when we’re older.

JorisBonson · 23/07/2022 23:00

I'd start a cat rescue and spend my day with as many cats and kittens as I could handle.

YellowPlumbob · 23/07/2022 23:01

To be more specific - I’d fund full time childcare for all their children, and give them a grant to help with other costs.

College only paid for the exact hours I was in, (toddler only) which was useful, but also not useful enough. I was doing 20 hours a week on top of the 3 days (assignments, exam revision, outside reading, etc)

So I was often awake till 2am to get it all done. Not healthy.

I'll join you on this, I love cats!

Similar to the TA suggestion above - I would love to pay for occupational therapists in as many schools as possible! It can be so helpful for children who perhaps don't meet thresholds for EHCPs etc, but who need the extra help.

For me, I would probably only ever buy silk or cashmere clothes ever again!

Justcallmebebes · 23/07/2022 23:19

Tell my toxic bullying boss to fuck off to the far side off fuck before I jetted off to a tropical luxury spa resort to plan the rest of my life. If only Sad

ErinAoife · 23/07/2022 23:21

I would get my garden done as it is a total mess. Will fix everything that is wrong in the house (there is plenty), put money aside for the kids college funds, gave some to charity (I always gave every month to concern and at Christmas always give to the rspca).

excelledyourself · 23/07/2022 23:21

I live next to a very deprived town, and lived there myself for years.

I'd set up some amazing kids clubs/youth clubs. I'd pay for staff, security, projects, entertainment, support services. Whatever was needed. And then I'd set up pick up and drop off transport for them all.

And I'd do something to support young parents in getting a decent start to family life. Again, whatever I could. Cover childcare costs, provide housing, driving lessons, etc.

I'd try and do something about the drug and alcohol problem. But where to begin?

And I'd make sure our local hospice never again had to crowd fund for stuff like a new boiler

Same for the pet rescue.

I do have a big family/circle of friends, and I would spend a good 10 million or so sorting them out.

Then I'd set myself up in my dream hobby/job. And have two hourly massages every week Grin

If we're talking Euromillions amount, I'd be happy to keep 3 million for me. The rest would go on the above and wherever else I could make a difference.
