To give to our class teacher who's leaving this week.

I've been trying to make them into a bouquet with no joy, they just bloody spoon ffs! I want to be able to see the pictures on them 🙄

Bubble wrap around the handles to keep them spaced didn't work, they just moved 🤷‍♀️

Any other ideas? I'm nipping to town when I've finished my coffee, so could pick something up for them then.

Stick them in some florist’s ‘oasis’?

Parpophone · 23/07/2022 09:56

What about one of those foam thingies that keep your toes apart when you are painting your nails?

purpledagger · 23/07/2022 09:57

What about wrapping them around a mug or jar (cylinder shape).

You couldn't turn 5 roses into a bouquet either, that's why bouquets have a mix of different flowers in them. Can you pick up some baby's breath/gypsophilia and something bright like some gerbera and use those to build the bouquet that the spoons sit in? Either that or something like rolled up teatowels to put the bouquet together with so there's something holding the spoons in place/apart?

Metellaestinhortobibit · 23/07/2022 09:58

Wedge spoons into vase/jam jar filled with decorative pebbles or candle sand

Cocowatermelon · 23/07/2022 10:00

Give up and wrap them up in paper/in a gift bag? A plain paper bag with a bow stapled on it or drawn on it would be fine.

Skelligsfeathers · 23/07/2022 10:00

I am intrigued by the spoons....what's that all about?

lucysmam · 23/07/2022 10:06

There's a florist on the market, I'll pop there and see if I can buy some oasis or something to display them in. I'm not sure actual flowers will last til Tuesday but they'll be able to advise on that.

If not, then yes, I think give up & just a gift bag may be the plan!

@Skelligsfeathers they're nursery rhyme props, he's an early year's teacher & had previously asked me for a set then forgot about them so I made him some. I've attached a better picture below

I’d just bundle them up and tie a ribbon around the bunch, place them in tissue paper and Bob them in a gift bag.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 23/07/2022 10:16

elastic band, put one in, twist, next one, twist, etc etc

Skelligsfeathers · 23/07/2022 10:17

Aaahhhhh....i get it! Cute!

UmbaRumba · 23/07/2022 10:18

What a bloody brilliant present !!!

Ontomatopea · 23/07/2022 10:19

Aw how lovely! I'd wrap in tissue paper and tie a ribbon round it.

FAQs · 23/07/2022 10:20

I’d wrap a natural looking bow raffia string, keep it simple.

Cocowatermelon · 23/07/2022 10:21

Or if you have sewing skills, make a basic bag out of a tea towel and then it doubles as a storage bag for the spoons in the classroom.

VerifiedBot2351 · 23/07/2022 10:38

I’d get a box from Card Factory and some shredded paper. I know it’s not the display your after but it would be nice.

Ariela · 23/07/2022 10:38

I'd make a storage bag as suggested ^

CinderellaFant · 23/07/2022 10:40

I'd bunch them together and put the handles in a jar and a bow round the jar

friskybivalves · 23/07/2022 10:40

I love the spoons! Where are they from? (Sorry to be zero help on the wrapping front)

greenacrylicpaint · 23/07/2022 10:45

bundle them with decorative twigs and flowers.
much easier (and prettier) that way.

greenacrylicpaint · 23/07/2022 10:47

or ask a florist do add them to a bouquet.

GenialHarryGr0ut · 23/07/2022 10:49

Pop them in a bottle bag with some tissue paper.

Freeasabird76 · 23/07/2022 10:53

They are brilliant,I'm afraid I can't think of anything else that hasn't been suggested.

Completly off topic,I get all the other nursery rhymes but what's the turtle one please?

GreenManalishi · 23/07/2022 10:57

Less is more, buy a gift bag and some tissue paper in town.

SolasAnla · 23/07/2022 11:03

Second the storage bag or an apron and sew on the school patch if the school has one.
