To give to our class teacher who's leaving this week.

I've been trying to make them into a bouquet with no joy, they just bloody spoon ffs! I want to be able to see the pictures on them 🙄

Bubble wrap around the handles to keep them spaced didn't work, they just moved 🤷‍♀️

Any other ideas? I'm nipping to town when I've finished my coffee, so could pick something up for them then.

Put them end to end, wrap in cellophane and trim with ribbon.

lucysmam · 23/07/2022 21:15

@coodawoodashooda I painted them with acrylic paint then varnished with yatch varnish to protect them. I did want to write on them but my handwriting on the handles was truly awful so I sanded it off.

@Octopuscrazy at work, we have the first set I did in a drawstring bag for the children to pick out of without peeking. And then further props to use alongside them (drainpipe, spider, and sun for Incy). Too late to order a bag now though to get to me on Monday to gift them on Tuesday 🙄

It's my own fault for dithering for ages over what to do with them, that I'm now quite disorganised with them 🤷‍♀️

Thank you. Is the whole spoon varnished?

Yes, I used a variety of different sized drinking glasses to stand them up in while they dried so none of the varnished bits stuck to the sides.

With hindsight, I should have written their names on the spoony bit in pencil, then varnished, then gone over it in my paint marker & varnished that. But that occurred to me too late & pencil will not write over varnish.

Eh Confused

You're asking yet again, how many times is this now 🤔

If this is some sort of advertising ploy, you failed, nobody wants to buy your crummy spoons 🙄

lucysmam · 24/07/2022 10:27

@RockinHorseShit I didn't realise I was offending the chat police. My sincere apologies - I do hope you also police the many other similar threads to tell their authors off as well 🙂 (alternatively, you could just not have clicked if they offend you that much 🤷‍♀️)

I hope MNHQ have given you permission for your spoony spam Wink

RockinHorseShit · 24/07/2022 10:33

& if this is a genuine first post & question. Apologies, but this post is almost identical to others that keep popping up lately. I've answered about 4 ! But here you go ... again

Make them into a bouquet of flowers with coloured tissue, cellophane & ribbon 👍🏻

TroublesomeLuck · 24/07/2022 10:34

You having a bad day Rock? What a bizarre reaction to such a harmless thread.

Princessoftheuniverse · 24/07/2022 10:49

That’s a brilliant gift!

lucysmam · 24/07/2022 10:55

Again @RockinHorseShit my apologies for struggling to wrap a gift - I wanted to make them into a bouquet, I can't get them to do it without spooning. I don't want to sell them, I want them to look nice. Sorry that I left it a bit late & couldn't actually make them do what I wanted & sorry they're so bloody offensive to you 🤷‍♀️ you could always just not have bothered instead of being rude.
