This lefty household may well vote for TomT.
Seems like a sensible grounded pragmatist keen to learn in the job.

Tinkerblonde1 · 15/07/2022 20:23

Tom is the only one who clearly said Boris was dishonest.

Whiskers4 · 15/07/2022 20:23

I like Tom, but I think him and Kemi might be strong contenders for next time around. Kemi speaks like my 20 DD, who I can see will end up in politics.

I haven't been convinced by Liz, especially with Rees-Mogg and Dorries behind her, but she's coming across better than I thought.

Overall, this household are in the Sunak camp though.

Unbelievable to think that soon one of these lacklustre bods will be our prime minister.

And will still be an improvement on the current position holder!

What broadcast are you watching? Confused

Same one as me.

LadyEloise1 · 15/07/2022 20:24

Does anyone know why Channel 4 "got" the first debate. ?

PermanentTemporary · 15/07/2022 20:27

I feel as if Truss is losing votes as she speaks.

I think Sunak is doing quite well. TT is all right. Kemi is good in this format.

alwayslearning789 · 15/07/2022 20:27

Not sure why but Liz is reminding me of Boris Johnson... all that 'hot air' blowing and promises ...

stratforduponavon · 15/07/2022 20:27

Boris in his day would have wiped the floor with this lot!

littlefireseverywhere · 15/07/2022 20:27

We’re liking Tom & Kemi. DH likes Rishi, although none of us vote conservative.

Penny is coming across really badly, she’s so right wing! Liz looks very old, why did she go for a suit?

RedWingBoots · 15/07/2022 20:28

PurpleDaisies · 15/07/2022 20:22

Anyone spotted Liz truss doing robot hand movements when she’s not speaking?

Taken from the Blair handbook of politicians public speaking gestures.

Blossomtoes · 15/07/2022 20:28

why did she go for a suit?

Pound shop Thatcher.

minou123 · 15/07/2022 20:28

This debate is nuts.

I'm sure I heard Liz say "we need more unicorns"

Penny say "we can simplify tax system for free". Completely going to out myself, but I work for HMRC, we have been asking to simplify tax, so many ideas, but always been told it will cost money. Which it will. I'm not working for free.

Because Nadine Nadine lied about them being a public service broadcaster?

I think Penny is grasping at straws here

Only party members and MPs get a vote, so what the general public think is not relevant unless they are party members.

You only get one shot of being PM. But if you arse lick enough you may get a decent Cabinet Office post like Home Secretary.

RedWingBoots · 15/07/2022 20:32

Penny is talking complete shit about energy bills. Ask Martin Lewis or Citizen's advice.

HotHeatDays · 15/07/2022 20:32

Boris in his day would have wiped the floor with this lot!

With waffle and bluster, and joking around. It's his IP.

He has always had a lot of hot air and a performer. It doesn't mean he is any better, by a long shot.

These just aren't like that. Most people aren't.

L1ttledrummergirl · 15/07/2022 20:32

Go on Krishnan.

Blossomtoes · 15/07/2022 20:32

Magic money tree’s back. 😂

This is useful for them for the GE next year.

Solasum · 15/07/2022 20:33

Kemi definitely wants to be in a Sunak cabinet
