Has anyone had this issue with Evri? 🤔

So I’ve ordered a pair of trainers from JD with the expected delivery date being the 19th (next Tuesday.) Unfortunately I didn’t actually realise the courier was Evri, which is just Hermes rebranded because of its’ horrendous reputation.

The last email I got was from Evri saying they’ve received my trainers from JD. I got no text this morning and as far as I’m aware I wasn’t expecting it to be delivered today - but I’d expect a text if it was meant to be delivered. I then get another email telling me that my parcel’s been delayed and they’ll update me when it’s out for delivery.

I’m only anxious because I’d like to know exactly what this “delay” is and I know how unreliable Hermes are. It doesn’t say anything else and there’s no human you can speak to on a contact number or customer service line - just an automated chat with a robot that tells me the little information I already know.

I was wondering if any of you have experienced this and if it was all okay? I’ve emailed JD to let them know what’s going on. Just feel uneasy about it! I find it a bit suspicious that they received my parcel one minute and then suddenly there’s a delay.

Omg they are the worst logistics/courier service and should not be allowed to trade!

“Lets say I know of someone who worked there” …
They keep stuff that lies in their sorting bays for over a few weeks because there is no one to claim it because they don’t have a customer care line to contact them properly about individual issues. ,
things end up in those sorting bays/piles if drivers don’t turn up for work or if there’s too many parcels for their van it will go to a sorting bay,
then there’s just down right theifs who steal that stuff and sell it.

You need to report them to the ombudsman for poor service under customer rights act…

iv been waiting on parcels from different retailers for over 2 weeks they have been contacting Evri on my behalf it’s been a nightmare.
Apparenty they are “lost”

you need to log complaints with retailers who use them and threaten them with ombudsman too for poor service.

They had to change their name from Hermes because they were that bad the sane will happen again!!!

retailers are starting to get bad reputations because of them

My parcel made it to the delivery depot one recent morning.

That evening an email & tracking claimed they tried to deliver it - but cctv shows they didn't.

Tracking said they'll deliver the next working day. They didn't & there was no tracking update.

The working day after that, I contacted the seller. Seller could only access the same info as me. No delivery or change to tracking on this working day, either.

I tried the recommended help page, which led to the chatbot, which said it would investigate but just produced the same, stale & untrue tracking info.

There seems to be no alternative to just waiting, hoping & vowing never to use Evri again.

I'm waiting for a parcel of 6 items from H&M. Evri have picked it up according to the tracking but Sunday 2nd October a message said it had been rerouted. I really hate messages which make you uncertain as to whether you'll get your parcel or not, as some items (clothing) will then be out of stock. I already had to wait for certain items to become available. ☹️

Had a lot of issues when our courier was away but now she's back it's all good again. X

Rerouted means it's at a depot and should get to your local one today/tomorrow.
People need to bear in mind that until recently we didn't have this tracking of parcels, we just waited on them arriving, having tracking seems to make ppl anxious and have something to moan/worry about.

You don’t have a contract with Evri , you have a contract with the company you bought your goods from. Contact them and let them deal with Evri.

They lie all the time. Say that they tried to deliver something when they didn’t. It then turns up the next day or so. Worse was when it happened before a bank holiday so my next day delivery parcel from Next didn’t arrive until four days later!

I know this is an old thread. But I've never had any luck contacting evri, I've only got anywhere by contacting the company I ordered from and them chasing it up

The bank holiday issue is a problem with Next not Evri, there is no delivery on official bank holidays same with Next offering Sunday delivery when Evri have a very very limited Sunday service.
God forbid couriers or warehouse staff have a bank holiday off!

@OnaBegonia no the problem that I had was that they were due to deliver the day before a bank holiday, they didn’t turn up, there was then a two day bank holiday plus a weekend so instead of getting the parcel on the Wednesday I didn’t get it to the following Monday!

Presumably Evri have agreed to provide a Sunday service for Next to offer it. It's not the retailers fault that they don't employ enough people to fulfill that and yes same as pp I've had the problem where it's not turned for days up because they failed to make the scheduled delivery before a weekend or bank hol

Evri couriers are contacted to work Mon-Sat, Sunday is optional.
Bear in mind Evri deliver over 600 million parcels per year and 70m of those are between Black Friday and Xmas, yes there can be issues but overall a tiny percentage of the volume.

I see that you can now upload a photo of your front door or the place where you want your parcel to be left, onto the app. That's a big plus.

So I ordered a airbed I'd seen advertised on tv as I have people staying over was promised it would be delivered on time paid extra so on Friday I had a message saying parcel been collected and then on Saturday it has been delayed I will receive update soon as they can it's now Wednesday and I've had to pay fpr my family to stay in hotel as its not turned up and message still same and I've contact amazon and they have now updated my tracking to been delayed will he between 13/ 17 now and only after 17th can I request a refund as I've seen o here if I would have known it was coming with evri I wouldn't have bothered as heard nothing but bad feed back to say I am fuming is a understatement 😡worse part u can't talk to any human at evri as its just a machine so angry

My parcel is now delayed for 5 days, was a birthday present for my grandson, is there any way of speaking to a person, with chat all I get is a robot.

@Marjrie I don’t think there is a way of doing that unfortunately, however I think what you can and should do is email whoever you bought it from, the company’s customer service, and let them know that Evri hasn’t delivered and it’s been delayed. They should be able to get in touch with them for you!

I had an awful experience with Vinted / Evri where their tracking said the parcel had been delivered to parcel shop, but it hadn't.

I'd then the next day or two get a message saying it had been delayed.

Then delivered - then delayed. How the fuck can it be delayed if it's been delivered?

I got FOUR separate messages saying it was delivered across a time span of 3 weeks. Made several trips to parcel shop which luckily is walking distance.

It turned up eventually.

Bought another item on Vinted a few weeks later and it was fine.

Bit like a pp said it's like a game of Russian roulette.

I like buying second hand but am going to have to stop on Vinted if Evri continues to be so unreliable.

Yes i am still waiting for some trainers from Jd they are a week late keeps saying its delayed and you cant even get hold of evri? :(

I suspect there is some major theft going on in their depots, especially as a pp says of items that have the branding on the packaging. I ordered some Nike trainers a month ago which are still stuck as "theres been a delay" on the tracking and no further update since 10.11! Was unable to contact evri other than the useless chat bot. I spoke to Nike who were mega helpful, had a good moan about Evri and they refunded me within a couple of days. I re ordered the trainers for collection and that went via DPD and I got then quickly. It truly is running the gauntlet with Evri and it's annoying you cant tell who the delivery service are until after you've ordered!

Happened the same with me as I placed my order with Sports Direct 2 days back and today I received a text message saying that they’ll deliver my parcel today but after a while I received another message saying it’s been delayed and after an hour or so I received a confirmation email that my order was delivered… when I viewed the email it had a picture of some lady living in the same street as I… thankfully I recognised her front door and when I went there to get the parcel they were not mine…. So apparently they delivered someone’s else parcels and confirmed it as mine in my email WTH….Evri has my 3 parcels pending now and idk if I’ll ever get them or not
