Two thoughts:

  1. Screams low budget Trump
  2. I worry he would win a GE if one was called.

That’s what he did last time though…. And it worked well enough for him for a while too.

I'm convinced JGW was responsible for the don't be nasty to Boris thread yesterday but would have been a name change. Either that or someone has studied her style.

Nah, at some point jgw outs herself, this one was consistently batshit. My money was on Nads or the Canadian hairdresser.

  • Johnson is asked at liaison committee if he's worried that Brexit will cost 4% of GDP (official forecast) but the Australia trade deal will only add 0.08% to GDP
  • the prime minister replies that Britain had a very successful vaccine programme

What channel is everyone watching?

What a bastard that Wimblers is on as I am a massive tennis fan... I need to flip between the two

BBC sounds app- radio 5 has both at once!

And now Fay Jones says she WILL resign as a ministerial aide IF PM fails to leave office by tomorrow. “My faith [in the PM] was miscalculated”

What is the official count?

Sajid Javid says it was impossible for him to keep his integrity while remaining loyal to Boris Johnson.

He says he was lied to about there being no parties in Downing Street and that all rules were followed.

"At some point we have to conclude that enough is enough."

If he knew that, you do have to ask why he didn't resign whilst Partygate was ongoing.

mbosnz · 06/07/2022 15:35

I'm watching on BBC News.

I find it interesting how his attitudinal response seems to vary according to whether he's being questioned by a male or a female.

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2022 15:36

Another Johnson loyalist, Buckland, has called for him to resign.

Two thoughts:

  1. Screams low budget Trump
  2. I worry he would win a GE if one was called.

Surely the party would simply deselect him and reselect the originals? Ultimately that mandate was for the party, not for him personally.

AmaryIlis · 06/07/2022 15:35

If he knew that, you do have to ask why he didn't resign whilst Partygate was ongoing.

Yes, it was a nice speech earlier, but he's known for months now that Johnson lied to him and Parliament about the parties. That demonstrably isn't why he's going now.

TokyoSushi · 06/07/2022 15:38

Seems pretty relaxed in liaison committee. Very much a vibe of 'couldn't give a toss'

Well 30 at this second in time

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2022 15:38

If he knew that, you do have to ask why he didn't resign whilst Partygate was ongoing.

Exactly, he was happy to defend Johnson and parrot the party line

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2022 15:40

Thanks tobee
