Has anyone donated to help Lithuania rise the funds to help buy a Bayraktar Drone for the Ukraine Arm Forces.

If everyone donates as little as a pound or a euro it would go along way.

If you don't feel comfortable donating via bank transfer. They also accept PayPal donations.

PLEASE SHARE THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
Much appreciated. Thank you!!

To follow on from my post above.

This is how much the Bayraktar Drone's mean to the Ukrainian Army.
These Drone's are very much a game changer in modern warfare.

I have donated also and found it every simple. It's the least I could do feeling so powerless in this war.

Ok can anyone imagine why China would do this?

✈️China has closed its space to Boeing and Airbus aircraft owned by Russian airlines and registered in two jurisdictions.

MagicFox · 27/05/2022 18:55

It's because the aircraft doesn't meet standards so is potentially dangerous

So, Russia becomes slightly more isolated again ...

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 27/05/2022 19:18

Rather cheered to see the footage today of a Russian politician standing up and demanding the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

MagicFox · 27/05/2022 19:22

Wait, what?! I've not seen that

That is cheering. Hope we will see more of that as time goes on.

Wow, fab!

That's awful about the women in Kherson, it is genocide.

Hopefully we will see more dissent, this article is about soldiers refusing to fight.

Oh I've also heard that China has either refused or pulled out of a big oil project in Russia... or was it gas? Something along those lines!

Not sure I understand what is meant by the registered in two jurisdictions comment, I'll need to check around, but potentially MagicFox's answer might be close to the truth.

[speculation]

Due sanctions Boeing/Airbus maybe can't or won't provide product support (which includes engineering advice/assistance/certification) for Airbus/Boeing aircraft on the Russian register. That would probably mean there is no guarantee the aircraft will remain airworthy. Given that maybe China aren't willing to accept the risk of having those aircraft in their airspace.

[end speculation]

notimagain · 27/05/2022 21:13

Chia and aircraft:

Haven't found anything in the specialist press yet but did find this:

latvia.postsen.com/world/10185/China-bans-Boeing-and-Airbus-planes-%E2%80%93-Abroad-%E2%80%93-News.html

Looks like uncertainties in some cases about who actually owns some hulls, with the problem of lack manufacturer support thrown in as well for good measure.

@RedToothBrush

If may...

"I didn't think that was verging on being any kind of missile expert nor claiming to be and I think you are being a bit of a pendent in suggesting I am."

Not wishing to start a spat so I'll keep it short;

I guess it might have been accidental but you did make a very authoritative, definitive statement on specific military capability that did come over a little bit as making it look as if you had some expertise.

No she didn’t and even if RTB had have you didn’t need to be rude about it, it’s not in the spirit of this thread and is unnecessary.

RTB’s input is much appreciated as is yours and everyone else’s so perhaps a little humility on your part to accept there was no need for your ‘oh she thinks she’s an expert’ tone.

Ijsbear · 27/05/2022 22:18

do you have the link to the artic project owl? sorry, bit of a mad day here

ScrollingLeaves · 27/05/2022 22:57

This is an interesting and sad article about the all too swift Russian invasion of Kherson early in the war. Was it simply because the Ukrainian forces were outnumbered? Why did they fail to blow up the bridges? Was there treason?

I can’t remember who it is here who has friends or relatives in Kherson as she might know their view on this.

Also I think RedToothBrush may have spoken of the possibility of bridges going boom so she may have an idea.
