I missed the big clue but actually I’m not that disappointed. The journey is much more enjoyable than the arrival in these puzzles, it’s almost a let down to get it too quickly.

Usually! Anything under 200 guesses is rare for me but I don't mind, just whack in whatever comes to my head and enjoy seeing where that takes me.

On this one and Meryl I did because I'd seen mention of a big clue, but normally I just can't. I try but my brain won't make sense of it until I've filled at least some of the gaps.

I'm normally in the 300's for numbers of guesses with about a 40% accuracy rate.

I quite liked it, simple enough but satisfying to get there.

It is satisfying when I get an answer without having to resort to google. I haven't had to google for a few days now, which probably means today's is going to be something I've never heard of!

I'm torn between hating them taking forever and being disappointed when I solve them quickly!

I saw the clue on this one and went completely in the wrong direction, though thankfully it was only one word. I then didn't see the relevance of the clue until I'd solved the whole thing! Not sure what it was that put me in the right direction to be honest, but I enjoyed it!

Just snuck in before it changes. By this time of day 18,000 people have solved it. Once I kept going for 3 days without refreshing because I was determined to finish it.

Looking at the stats, I think mn probably beat the rest of the world on that one.

Well that would have been a hell of a lot quicker if I had remembered American spelling.

Same, why do they have to spell things so strangely?

111 guesses yesterday to get skirt having tried skirts.
What did I spend most of yesterday doing? Making a fucking Skirt for dd with left over fabric.

now I'm sadder than I was yesterday about guessing it so quickly. 😂

I figured the first two out quite quickly, had a little trouble with the spelling of the last.

Can anyone explain yesterday's clue that I was oblivious too please?

The clue that helped me get it was A- which was A-line - - - so skirt

I doubt I'll ever do better than that.

Very happy with the low (for me) number of guesses on the one hand, but also DH is wrangling the toddler whilst I ‘cook dinner’ (it’s in the oven and doesn’t need anything else doing to it) so I’d sat down with a cuppa and was looking forward to having a good go at it, then finishing later after dinner, so feel a bit short changed.

I think I’m disappointed because I didn’t do much working out - the first two words were amongst the ones I usually try quite early, and the mention of American spelling on here gave me the heads up on the rest.

I should really have got it more quickly. One of my usual starter words is in the title!

Usual starter word in the title, my one incorrect word was because I jumped the gun about the second word! Don't think I'll better this one!

I would have got it about 25 guesses sooner if I'd got the right spelling of the third word of the title at that point. Curses!

That was more painful than it should have been due to particular reasons which I had better not mention in case it is a spoiler!

Actually that was the issue I had. It kept changing my spelling to the UK version and I assumed i had the wrong word.
