I solved Semantle #101 in 141 guesses with 3 hints. My first guess had a similarity of 2.50. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #40. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 17.69. semantle.com/

@JaneJeffer 141 guesses isn't bad, I took 224 guesses which is about average for me.

I had a mare of almost 100 guesses without a green and then green words everywhere. Only got it in the end with a clue from here and I actually fundamentally disagree with it as a target word for reasons those of you who’ve got it may understand.

I’m just not getting it.

I’ve tried every synonym I can think of. Does anyone have any clues left in them?

@EdwinsActsOfKindness 993 is a bugger but a longer version of it is something you are ? to. Might get you a higher green 🤞

Re numbers of guesses, I get quite high numbers because I tend to fire out guesses pretty fast, without much thinking time, and probably waste lots of guesses on words that could be ruled out as useful if I took my time. A friend of mine makes a guess and then thinks about it for ages before another one. I’d guess that this is at play in the stats on here.

I seem to have got hoodwinked by some high greens that mean sort of the opposite.

Yikes. Took me 152 guess to even get a green. None of the greens (apart from the final three or four) really helped with the solution as far as I could tell
