I considered this word early on but didn’t put it in. Some of the comments here made me rethink.

Needless to say, there was a lot of googling.

I solved Semantle #97 in 309 guesses with 13 hints. My first guess had a similarity of 12.66. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #12. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 46.33 (987/1000). semantle.com/

Utterly bizarre, can't see how most of the answers are linked at all.

I've had a bad couple of days. Yesterday's was 250 guesses with 48% accuracy. Annoying, as I should have got it about 20 earlier.

I gave up on the day before at 350 guesses. I don't know what the accuracy was, but well below 30% I imagine. At about 300 I thought I was having a breakthrough, but it became clear that my knowledge of chemistry just wasn't good enough.

Very annoyingly there were two key words from the opening paragraph that I could have sworn I'd tried. (I actually double-checked the list of guesses to make sure!). I don't know if I'd have got the answer from them, but it would have got me a lot closer than where I was.

14 was the point that I knew exactly what I was looking for but I'm not sure how to narrow it down and it's not an area I'm hugely familiar with so I'm spamming ideas at the moment...currently on 30!
