I solved Semantle #90 in 183 guesses with 7 hints. My first guess had a similarity of 4.97. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #54. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 8.78. semantle.novalis.org/

I really struggled with this one, hence the copious hints, which varied greatly in usefulness, and took me down some interesting dead ends 🤔

Got 926 on guess 13. Can waste my 2 hours before work on Cemantle now 😑

my usual end stage of, as I think a pp put it, titting about in the high greens for ages.

I’m starting to understand that when you get to the low 990s you often still need to turn one more corner in your thinking before you’re there. It’s not enough to think in terms of synonyms, although that’s what my brain keeps trying to do.

Went for a hint and it gave me 970 which is a bit of a curveball. I can’t think of any more variations of the lower ones and everyone related to the top one is cold.

Real facepalm moment when I suddenly broke into the high 900s after having 829 for over 10p guesses...

I think today's is more a general theme and thinking of the target word as one thing within that theme, rather than synonyms.

Nice one. I had very few greens, but a nice high cold one actually gave me the area then I worked through all I could think of connected to that.

I’m on 99 without even a green though I do have a mini theme - which probably has nothing to do with the answer. A few more before I go for a hint.

Gave in and went for a hint on guess 50. It gave me word 1/1000 which I then had to Google. Today is not a good day!!

That was nice, got there logically with no hints and without even peeking at this thread. really wasn’t expecting that to be the answer as was titting about with things like 798 for a bit.
