It took me about 100 - once I (accidentally) got a strong word, after about another 12 guesses I accidentally got the title! But it's not obvious.

I’m doing it on desktop now and I strongly recommend that for anyone who isn’t already. Visually so much easier to get a sense of the whole article.

Argh. Wish it wouldn't accept spelling mistakes. I would have had it 80 guesses earlier but for a typo! I was most confused

Lemon I wish I had one! Try & complete some sentences & identify a theme - like yesterday I went round & round items in the tool shed without seeing the obvious!

213 guesses. Didn't really have a sense of the subject until I hit the answer. The list at the bottom had me puzzled (with my occasional words filled in).

I'd have got that one sooner (though not necessarily in less guesses/more accuracy) if I'd had pluralisation turned on - a couple of highly relevant words only showed up the other way to what I'd entered. But quite a good one.

407 guesses, automatic plurals on, no googling. Didn't get a sense of the topic until the very end.

Tbh I think I just enjoy completing the sentences! Quite therapeutic.

@Littlebelina ahh how frustrating — but then I guess there’s no way it could reliably identify and reject spelling mistakes without also blocking a ton of unusual spellings that do legitimately appear in articles. Proper names, historical or variant spellings of words, reproduced misspellings in direct quotes … Wikipedia is just so vast.

I got lucky with one of my words & happened to spot a pattern in the blanks, which set me on the right path.

If you enjoy the filling in the blanks aspect I recommend the Sporcle "Figure out the lyrics" quizzes where all they tell you is that it's a Disney song, or a Beatles song or whatever and you guess words at random until you can complete the song.
