Do you have any high scoring words? I am happy to PM clues based on those?

I had a false impression of how tricky these were from my first one, which had decimal points in. I put in some numbers, thought 'Oh, that's familiar', and bob was your uncle.

It's been very much downhill since then.

I'm clearly getting old as none of the topic today seemed familiar, despite having both maths and physics A-levels...!

Interesting tactics from people.

i use a random selection of things like king, history, country... to try and hit upon the subject so I can be more focussed. This one took ages to get a hit!

It took me 1380 guesses - in the end I was just throwing every mathsy term I could think of at it!

Eventually one was right!

DH spotted what I was playing and had a go, and the wretch got it in less than 15 mins. I was at it on and off all evening until bedtime

Thanks for the tips! I’ve known the subject matter for ages but it’s many years since I’ve done it school and I can’t get it!

Is there any way to sort your answers so the highest scoring are at the top, instead of in chronological order ?

I though todays was the easiest so far to figure out the general area because of the things which weren't words, and the typography. And then I was able to quickly determine that it wasn't one of the fields within that which I still have working knowledge of because of the many terms which got 0.

I've got my maths graduate DH helping me now and he has come up with many amazing words which are helping a lot! But we only have one of the title words.

That took a while! All I can say it i took this subject in first year at uni as my tutor said it was easy. Needless to say I failed it!
