I asked for dinner advice yday and got so may lovely suggestions, so I'm back for more lol. Something quick and easy bung it in the oven no effort- what's your go to? Mine is usually a chicken, carrots and potato all cooked together and then add stock at the end to turn into a gravy. That's too much effort today though!

Chop onions, courgette, pepper and potatoes, roast for a bit, then add chopped chorizo, tin of tomatoes, season and cook. Or sprinkle basmati rice over when adding the tinned tomatoes and a bit if water rather than the pots if preferred. Easy, healthy and delish!

Sausages with bacon lardons and a bbq sauce with baked beans added.... I make my own bbq sauce.. Fry sausages and bacon. Add to sauce, stir in the baked beans... Cook for about 50 mins at 170 degrees.. Serve with potatoes and veg.

Assuming you don't mean ready type meals/ Frozen pizza, nugget, fish finger type food. I'd say pulled pork, bung it in the oven at a super low temp when you get up in the morning, leave it to do its magic in 8 hours....no effort whatsoever and tastes out if this world.

Buy Waitrose cheese stuffed meatballs in tomato sauce and put in the oven, when ready pour over some brown pasta and season/some olive oil, serve with a ready made salad.

@AnchorWHAT

Mine is defrost some chicken, cover in spices or seasoning of some sort, chop up a salad and chuck on the table with tortilla wraps to build your own.
That's what we do here.

It also creates enough leftovers to do lunch the following day!

Thinly slice an aubergine. Layer it in a baking dish with ready-made passata, italian herbs, mozzarella and parmesan. Bake for 40 mins on low. Serve with crusty bread.

saddowizca · 19/04/2022 17:45

This thread has made me see gnocchi in a whole new light thanks.
I love a tray bake, so a lot of the ones on here look great, espesh Nigella's Spanish one. my 'go to's are;
Nigella's Orzo with lardons and peas - super 'peas'y
but if I have someone coming round I love Nigel Slater's recipe in Real Fast Food which is cooked papadelle, with black or green olive past stirred through, tipped into a baking dish and covered with gruyere and pine nuts, then browned in the oven, salty, sweet and utterly delicious.
Nigel Slater’s ‘Real Fast Food is an old cookbook, but the recipes are really delicious and simple.

Salmon fillets, pesto on top, cherry tomatoes and feta. Stick in oven for 30 minutes and serve with microwave rice pouch.
Pasta of choice, cook, drain and stir in that saint agur blue cheese spread (in tub) and a packet of spinach leaves. Delish.
Rotisserie chicken with whatever salad we have in fridge and then wraps or oven chips/sweet potato fries etx

amatsip · 19/04/2022 18:00

Meatloaf, 750g lean beef, 100ml milk, 2 eggs, 100g grated cheese, 1 onion and pepper diced, 100g ritz cracker crushed.

Mix it all up, Chuck in loaf pan on 160 fan oven for 45 mins then add a bbq glaze ( brown sugar and ketchup mixed together) and cook for another 30 mins.

Quick, easy and empty plates from everyone

SpiderVersed · 19/04/2022 18:00

Oven baked risotto - onion and celery sweated of for a few minutes, then white wine, rice, stock, cherry tomatoes (or other veg of choice) and bung in the oven to 30 minutes. Add parmesan and stir.

Baked potatoes, with foil parcels of salmon fillet with a dab of butter/ slosh of wine and herbs added for final 20 minutes, and a bit of salad on the plate.

On the hob my go-top quick dinner is puttanesca because the sauce takes less time than the pasta does.

Or cover udon/rice noodles with boiling water. Turn heat on under wok, toast sesame seeds, set aside. Stir fry pak choi and one of those frozen cubes of garlic and ginger and a pinch of dried chillies. Add prawns or (microwaved) salmon, then the noodles for a quick warm through. Slosh of soy sauce, serve and top with toasted seeds. About 8 minutes start to finish.
