166 guesses, somehow wasn't satisfying when I got it, thought it would be more like the words I was on the seemingly never ending green trail of.

Well, got to 954 and have resorted to hints. Hints have just confused me lore as nor seemingly to lead anywhere!

Well I've just tried the hint button for the first time and it's given me a word I've never heard of. So I've hard to try it again, and now have a word that I can decipher but have never seen used and would have assumed wasn't dictionary worthy. So that's helped...

I think I tried every variation of the word, except the word itself.

I am struggling to see how most of my greens had any connection though

Not too bad today, got stuck dancing around 954 for a while but once I managed to move from that I was ok.

my usual very first word was cold when actually I’d argue it’s connected but I’ve given up on understanding how this game works!

I much prefer the actual clues here rather than the game giving me a hint!

Urgh, I hated this one. None of my greens really related to the word for a looooong time - and the hints, until the last one, just made it harder.

Solved with less than 50 guesses and no hints today! Not many greens and a fair bit of luck!

In a primary school lesson after you’ve done some 984ing you might be inclined to have a go at some different types of the target.

Can't get any higher than 979 - all my guesses are just filling in lower greens. A hint, please?

979 is useless really, I suppose it is in the same very broad category of words. Lots of the higher words are similar, ie pretty useless!

Ok @BIWI I've got a clue that might relate the two. If something was 979ing and then it stopped, it might be forced to 1000. That is the only tentative relationship I can make, but might get you on another track.

I got 951 at guess 8 but got stuck in synonyms for a while. Not a bad score though!

I needed a hint and it got me there in the end. The greens are so unrelated to the target word today 😂😂

I’ve been pondering on this clue but I’m just not getting it!

@biwi my clue above for 984 also works for 979 if you put it in the same context.

I have got to 994 and cannot work out where to go next.

I think I really must be on a weird track because mention of doing it in a primary school is very much not what I'd expect from 973, 896, 633, 594, 403...!!!

I have others though, all verbs.

What type of thing might you 984? What else could you do with that object?

I think from googling that the actual link to 984 is different though - in a certain context 984 can be a noun (more in America, we call it something different here I think). And that thing can be made into what’s called ‘984 target word’ which you might find helpful things about online that tell you what to do with it.

You might do 973 in a particular lesson, particularly with younger children. You might also get them to do <target word> or to <target word> another object.
