Anyone else develop a sudden intolerance to a food they've eaten for years?

Particular ready meal i've eaten week in-week out for about 2 years, the last 3 times has made me sick.. started with mild indigestion that has gone on to full on being sick/sweats/shakes last time.

I hadn't made the connection before, in case anyone asks, but while miserably sitting on the floor of my bathroom last night, i made the connection.

There's been no info about a recipe change on the box, but it seems i can no longer eat it.. i'm upset and annoyed as it was quick/easy and one meal EVERYONE else ate (miracle in itself) and no-one else in the house is having problems with it, just me.

Yes, onions. Can still eat a small amount in say spag bol or chilli, but if there’s too much, I get horrible stomach ache and wind. I only realised this when I had a very bad reaction to French onion soup, something I’ve eaten for years. Can’t even eat an onion bhaji these days without setting me off. Really annoying as I used to love onions!

I hit mid 30s and s got I’m allergic to peanuts /lentils. I stupidly ignored symptoms until the last time I ate them and my tongue swelled. I now avoid.

What we’re your symptoms MrsPear?

I’ve noticed that around 5 years ago or so, that eating nuts made my mouth very dry and I got a slight tingly feeling around my mouth (and an itchy nose?)

I’ve been avoiding nuts in case it gets worse but then sometimes wonder if I’m overreacting?

I used to eat a lot of nuts - peanut butter on toast was my go to snack!

Codeine, banana and avocado. Not anaphylactic reaction but just feel very ill and like ice runs through me internally. Avoid now but in the past made myself sick and it helped. Would love an explanation if anyone knows what is going on.

I'm noticing more and more that bread makes me swell up like a balloon. I have to decide which is more horrible - the bloating, or giving up bread!

Sea salt. I'm fine with table salt but sea salt the minute it enters my mouth I get violently sick. Don't know why, this started in my early 40s. I used to be intolerant to onions and garlic but fine now.
