I'm mid 30s and haven't ever broken a bone.

AHungryCaterpillar · 12/04/2022 13:52

No I haven’t either.

lifeturnsonadime · 12/04/2022 13:55

I don't think it's unusual to never break a bone.

I broke my ankles last year in my mid 40s. I think I was unlucky.

lifeturnsonadime · 12/04/2022 13:56

Only broke one ankle apologies for the random plural. It WOULD have been mega unlucky to break both!

Broken arm when I was 3. Was in a car crash.

NormalForNuneaton · 12/04/2022 13:58

Yes, twice, but not until my mid 40s/50s, so don't count your chickens yet Wink

Elbow aged 10
Foot aged 19
Dislocated knee age 25

Not to mention numerous sprains, ligaments, scars etc.

SockFluffInTheBath · 12/04/2022 14:02

A few fractures here and there, mostly from clumsy falls when I’ve dislocated my kneecaps.

SilverHairedCat · 12/04/2022 14:05

All toes as a kid, more than once (seawater swimming pool /lido, variable water depth).
Thumb aged 7. Slid off bike.
Wrist aged 9. Flew off bike.
All fingers when working as security. I was attacked by a group at a festival.
Middle finger as an adult. Slammed hand in car door.
Left foot as an adult. Multiple healed breaks showed up on last xray. I have weak tendons and ligaments after a bad break, and now keep going over on it. I've rarely seen a Doc as just strap it up and keep going.

Had a bone density scan last year, all good but it runs heavily through the family.

RumJerrySailorRum · 12/04/2022 14:08

My cheekbone in my 20's

My foot, but don't know how or when.

A couple of toes, in my 40's. I tripped over a tree root in flip flops, and stubbed my toe twice in quick succession on a stool.

FindingMeno · 12/04/2022 14:10

Yep. Rib.
Receiving end of a punch.

Soubriquet · 12/04/2022 14:11

33 here. No I haven’t and I have osteopenia.

My sister manages to break one arm twice and the other arm once all before she turned 16

iklboo · 12/04/2022 14:13

Most toes several times
A few fingers several times
My nose twice
My ribs

SpaghettiSquash · 12/04/2022 14:16

No but DS managed to break four bones within an eighteen month period when he was 7/8!

MrsMoastyToasty · 12/04/2022 14:18

Currently recovering from a broken ankle.

Fraaahnces · 12/04/2022 14:19

More than my fair share…. Mostly arms. The last one was definitely my own fault. I did a bloody good job, too. Had to have it reconstructed. Had nine prior to that, but my mother was involved there. Many fingers. Leg (they pulled me out with it when I was born - like a calf, I imagine.) Shoulder, clavicle, the very tip of my little finger (fuck, that one hurt!) couple of ribs (car accident) thumb (performing CPR)
The last one (thumb) required hand surgery. The hand surgeon asked about my over-familiarity with orthopaedic surgeons and noticed how mobile and clicks my joints are. Seems I got to nearly 50 to discover that the reason I’m a bloody klutz is because I have Ehler’s-Danlos Syndrome. Oh, and I also have to have heart surgery too. Shitballs.

MrsAvocet · 12/04/2022 14:23

I hadn't until I was in my 50s. Then I broke my neck, sternum, mutiple ribs, shoulder and ankle. I wouldn't recommend it.

cleanasawhistle · 12/04/2022 14:33

38 never broken a bone despite being very clumsy and accident prone

user1471517095 · 12/04/2022 14:39

Yes, in my mid 40's I tripped going up the stairs in my slippers. Broke my little finger. It made a noise like a snapping twig.Shock

AnyCakeButBattenburg · 12/04/2022 14:41

I broke my wrist about 5 years ago - I slipped on some wet steps, put my hand out to stop myself. It's apparently the most common cause of broken wrists. I was 58 then so I did well to get to that age without any breaks.

Cheesewiz · 12/04/2022 14:43

Broke my hip when I was 9

MedusasBadHairDay · 12/04/2022 14:45

Yep. Finger, wrist and ankle (not all at the same time)

Sofasogood1 · 12/04/2022 14:47

Fell over and hurt my back. It REALLY hurt. Fifteen years later I learned I'd actually fractured my spine after having a scan for something unrelated. My only break (unless I have others I'm not yet aware of!!)

CrowAndArrow · 12/04/2022 14:54

Had my first broken bone aged 46.

Time yet.

Mablefly · 12/04/2022 14:54

I have. The nteresting thing I have found is the varying degrees of pain, depending on what is broken and how badly. I have had a couple of broken fingers that made impressive snapping noises and looked visibly wonky, that was ouchy, but totally manageable.

I then had an elbow injury which was described as ‘life changing’ and I am now full of metal pins and plates - that was insanely painful and it makes me feel a bit sick when i think of it. It’s great for freaking people out though because I do look a bit like Frankenstein Grin
