I'm mid 30s and haven't ever broken a bone.

Stress fracture in shin, age 49. It's a sports injury.

Broke the end of one of my big toes age 53. A toilet cubicle door fell off its hinges.

Mablefly · 12/04/2022 14:57

I should say that I look like Frankenstein’s monster (before I get told off by my old English teacher)! I was 40 when I had my ‘big’ break BTW - trying to keep fit by running and it back fired slightly

namechangeranonymouse · 12/04/2022 15:18

No. Considering I go ice skating every week and people all around me end up with broken bones, I'm quite lucky!

Nope! Never had a nosebleed either - despite being hit so hard with a football in my teens I thought my face was going to explode.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 12/04/2022 15:41

Nose (walking into the edge of an open plate glass store door)
Several toes on different occasions (stubbed on various objects)
Pott’s fracture right ankle requiring reconstruction
A rib

Er don't jinx yourself love! I've broken my collar bone

Georgeskitchen · 12/04/2022 15:53

I reached the grand Old age of 55 then suffered an alcohol related ankle break 🤬

themonkeysnuts · 12/04/2022 15:59

Never till last year at 58, tripped and broke me wrist (heard it snap) , the pain when they tried to straighten it was immense, had to have a nerve block then operation to put pins in 3 days later

GaiaWise · 12/04/2022 15:59

I broke my arms 11 times between the ages of 4 and 11. On two occasions I broke both arms simultaneously. Plus an ankle. I was a v clumsy child and also took risks with trees, biking, roller skates etc, combined with 1970s hands off parenting. Nothing since the age of 11.

TibetanTerrah · 12/04/2022 16:00

Broke my ankle at 5 tripping over the hosepipe Hmm Didn't get on with crutches (too short?) so they gave me a zimmerframe Grin

Iheartmysmart · 12/04/2022 16:12

Ooh lots. Wrist, collar bones twice each side, ribs, toe, fractured skull, eye socket, cheekbone and jaw. I no longer go horse riding!

Ohyesiam · 12/04/2022 16:13

55 and no I’ve not

EileenGC · 12/04/2022 16:17

None so far. I am terrified of breaking a bone in my fingers, hands or wrists as that's pretty much the end of your career, in my field of work. I have no idea how I'd cope with it.

It started as a hobby at 5, by the age of 10 it was clear I was taking it very seriously, and I also made the decision then never to go skiing, ice-skating, horse riding, etc. I was exempt from basketball and handball in school - ok, that was a bit too much and my laziness in sports played a role. Sometimes I wish I could try those activities but then I remind myself of what's at stake!

I was going to tell my ‘broke both wrists at once’ story as that usually impresses people, but you’ve done it twice! Yikes! Shock
HopefulProcrastinator · 12/04/2022 16:20

Yep - one bad enough for surgery and a year's worth of rehabilitation.

However I grew up like I belonged in the wild, climbing anything with a handhold and launching myself into stupid situations. How my mother wasn't grey before she turned 30 I have no idea.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/04/2022 16:24

Broke wrist as a teen falling over a cleaners mop at school
2 bones in foot falling over my own laundry basket!
Bone in my hand falling in the road( stopped the trafficBlush)
Doesn't really count but I've also had my ankle and femur surgically broken for correct position of leg
( I have Cerebral Palsy on Left side)
I'm 57

Hersetta427 · 12/04/2022 16:27

I hadn't until I was 49 then broke 8 ribs when a car ploughed into mine on the motorway. Excruciatingly painful so have a new found respect for ribs.

takingmytimeonmyride · 12/04/2022 16:27

Despite always being incredibly clumsy I hadn't broke anything till 18 months ago (aged 44) when I slipped in some mud, put my hand out to save myself and bent my elbow right back and broke it. It made me feel very sick at the time. The pain wasn't too bad thankfully, normal painkillers did the job.

Still as clumsy, and always have bruises, but I'm hoping I won't ever get another break.

Redannie118 · 12/04/2022 16:28

At 43 years of age i thought i never had. But then i had some x rays done related to chronic illness i have and was told at some point in time i had broken my foot and badly broken my nose at some point ! No clue when, both breaks were very old and im very clumsy lol!

AuntieMarys · 12/04/2022 16:28

familyissues12345 · 12/04/2022 16:33

TabbyM · 12/04/2022 16:42

Nothing till I was 30 then hip and ankle (car accident), toe (kicked a door) and other ankle (slipped out walking)..

RosieRoww · 12/04/2022 16:42

Never.

MillenialInDenial · 12/04/2022 16:44

So many!
6 of my fingers when I fell off my bike handlebar crashed into right into a kurb,
Re-broke 2 of those falling over in school,
Broke my thumb in a car door,
Broke my ankle age 13 got hit by a car,
Broke my wrist in 3 places age 15 friend kicked me,
Broke my other ankle in a bizarre accident on a metal bench my foot sort of slipped and twisted at the same time,
Broke my wrist again, same one! Pulling a concrete slab out of the ground gardening,
Broke my foot falling off a bouncy castle last year.

Of all breaks the top of my foot has been the most painful & problematic it stills hurts every now and again.

tass1960 · 12/04/2022 16:55

Age 60 broke my ankle whilst pottering in the garden 😳
