Blimey I feel old, Brooklyn Beckham is getting married

I just read that Brooklyn Beckham is getting married. I thought he would be about 15 years old, no he's 23 😁

23 is young to get married but they’re so rich they’ve already done everything already.
Brooklyn strikes me as a nice young man but has no direction in life. Isn’t he trying to be a chef now?

Good for him. He is punching above his weight. I suspect being part of a much richer family is not going to do much for his search for identity.

23 is too young but he’s probably been and seen more places and people than most of us.

I’m wondering whether his fiancée wants him to be her valet, driver and handyman in the Florida mansion. I say that because when Brooklyn is regularly photographed in a tweed cap, he reminds me of Norman Wisdom in one of those “Mr Grimsdale!” films. Facial expressions and all.

Because it is!

Your 20s is your time for being young and beautiful (or, at least, the most beautiful you’ll ever be), for socialising, for being care-free and responsibility-free, and for doing all of that with other young, beautiful, care-free and responsibility free people. For travelling, for doing new things, for getting to know the world.

You have your 30s and 40s and 50s and 60s and 70s and, if you’re ‘lucky’, your 80s and your 90s for settled domesticity.

I can cast iron guarantee that this women is not the love of his life, and that he is throwing away his fun, experimental 20s for married life.

Which he has the rest of his life - decades and decades and decades - to do.

I can't wait to see the guest list and the dress and what Brooklyn will be wearing. I very much doubt they'll be still married in 5 year's time.
He's the same age as my eldest, not too young to get married. But Brooklyn doesn't seem to have found a path career-wise, so not sure what he does all day.

I always wonder what these children of the super rich are supposed to do with their lives. BB hasn't got the talent to be a footballer or a photographer, he isn't interested in politics which could be a potential career, and he can hardly go and get a job at a supermarket, can he? What does he do all day?

Does he do any volunteering for charities? I would have though the Beckham name would be valuable for that.

We are local to the Beckham’s. They have a decent reputation locally. Would stand for ages in M&S signing autographs for the young kids lining up for them. Didn’t complain as far as Ive heard. (I was there on one occasion)

Friends of mine had dcs at the prep school they were at & had nothing but good to say about them. Victoria is apparently very funny, she went to school with another friend.

It gives him something to do I suppose. I feel quite sorry for the Beckham children. They've spent their lives being paraded about so we all know their names and faces (I can't think of any one else famous where I know this). How do they carve out their own success when we all know who they are and they can't follow in their parents footsteps. I saw some photos of Cruise recently with his keks around his ankles trying to look 'sexy' He was barely 17 and it was just all types of wrong.

I'm sure we said the same about his parents but that's lasted. They were 24 and 25 when they got married but were already parents to Brooklyn.

I never got the vibes that the Beckham’s marriage wouldn’t last. I thought they were pretty well matched.

I also think it’s ridiculously young to get married. But I also know lots of people who know the family and again, they all say that they’re a really lovely family and the kids are also lovely, polite well behaved etc. to be fair, that does stack up, you never ever hear about any of them getting into trouble, and they seem to enjoy being with their family.

Having said that, I don’t understand how, with the best educations money can buy, and they went to some good schools, they haven’t been encouraged into non celeb careers. University and then law / accountancy / banking anything really where they could work professionally and where they could be successful and forge a career which isn’t about being a celeb on their parents coat tails
