Anthony Stewart Head is NOT dead (Mandela Effect)?

DH and I would have sworn blind that A.S.H (Giles from Buffy) died 5-or-so years ago... We were 100% sure.

Turns out. Totally alive.

The thing is, we both remember details of articles and online threads about how sad his death was...

Did anyone else think the same?

Surely you're confusing it with Alan Rickman's death? Or maybe Rik Mayall's?

Nice man. I sat next to him at the theatre in Bath one night, pre-Covid. He smells amazing and has impeccable manners.

I don't think I'm confusing him with Rickman or Mayall, I knew those two were dead (sad in both cases).

It was quite a specific memory, I loved Buffy when it came out, and I remember being somewhat saddened by Anthony Head's death... I'm very glad he's alive BTW. Long Live Anthony Head!!

Ah, now I thought this Anthony Steward Head must be different to Anthony Head from the Gold Blend adverts and that's why OP is confused, because Gold Blend guy is definitely dead.

But he's not Shock I'm so sorry Anthony. I agree OP, I'm sure I saw that reported a few years ago now.

Me and my sister were both surprised when meatloaf died because for some reason we both thought he already had.
Same as you, we were sure we had saw it on the news and everything.

I did a bit of "is Giles also Gold Blend guy... Did the Gold Blend Anthony Head die?"... But you're right... Same guy. Not dead.

So far, I think we have me + DH + 3 on this thread who thought he was dead...

I never know who's dead, but I was so certain of him.

Anyone else remember the Love Over Gold book that was written to give the backstory and tied all the Gold Blend adverts together? What tosh but I read every page.

Herc and Carolyn are happily bickering together whilst flying somewhere exotic.

He’s not “well spoken” - he has a kinda rough London accent! The well-spoken voice he uses so often in roles isn’t his natural accent at all.

@Justme10 IIRC there was a lot of talk about MeatLoaf having pneumonia a few years back and it was reported that he was at deaths door - I don't remember hearing that he was better though so I was also a bit puzzled!

Never heard that AH was dead though.

Not very helpful because I can’t remember any of the details, but I can remember reading a news article that was awkwardly phrased that gave the impression at first glance that he’d died. I think he was expressing his condolences about someone, but they’d used his picture instead of that of the person who’d died.

I thought Lech Walesa (Polish union man from the 80s) was dead until I googled him today and found out he is still alive.

Could you be thinking of Terry Pratchett? He died a few years ago and there were a lot of articles about him.

Not that they're alike, particularly, but I guess they're both filed in my head under "all round good bloke" and "involved in my favourite things".

He's in Ted Lasso. And Bridgerton. He's in S3 of Ted Lasso which has only just filmed.

He is not even slightly dead.

I also had a vague feeling he was dead. But obviously not. He seems to have been very absent since Buffy, which is a long time ago. I wonder if I felt he died during Buffy as he left the series?? No idea!

Very true. Although he is so damned good at the RP accent. The smarm-off between him and Roger Allam on Cabin Pressure is a thing of beauty.

James Marsters has not been shy about the fact that he based Spike's accent on Tony Head's real accent.

Where have you heard his rough London accent? I never have and a quick Google only has him speaking in a posh accent
