Best shop bought chocolate cake?

I normally make birthday cakes but I've got a massively busy week at work and I just don't think I'm going to have time before Saturday.

Any recommendations? It's got to be chocolate and is for a teenager (so not a character).

We have all major supermarkets plus M&S nearby

Just got my 16 year old ds the Galaxy ripple cake from Asda for his birthday, it was lovely, really moist and he devoured it within the day 😳

Do you have a local "Cook" shop? Their chocolate cakes are fantastic. I got one for a friend's 60th recently & jazzed it up with chocolate buttons, smarties, curly wurly bits etc. It genuinely is like home made

@Pugfostermum

My favourite is the M&S chocolate one with the tiny white and milk chocolate stars all over it. Super gooey and chocolatey!
Definitely this one Delicious Smile

Sainsbury's Plant Pioneers Chocolate Cake. It's lovely and rich but quite small depending on how many people there will be (but I suppose you could get two).

Another vote for M&S chocolate cake

It’s really good

Our go to store bought cake is M&S red velvet: www.marksandspencer.com/red-velvet-celebration-cake-serves-8-/p/ckp60438495

Passing off as homemade? Nooo! Embrace the cheat with pride!
Morrisons do giant French fancies to order and you can surround it with dozens of Mr Kiplings.

Readyforspring · 07/03/2022 20:56

M&S extremely chocolatey

Thornton’s Cake

We love M&S choc fudge cake mix. I've made it loads of times and everyone that's tried it think it's great. Failing that, their actual choc fudge cake is another go to for us, but is not as good as the 'homemade' version.

Marks & Spencer Colin the Caterpillar - best. cake. ever.
