Semantle Chapter 2

Since the madness of our love/hate affair with Semantle is continuing, I thought I start a second thread. Why worry about the goings on in the world when you can pull your hair out over vocabulary?

To umderstand what I'm on about follow this link. It's a word game like Wordle in that you need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

Well, I’m definitely getting there. I put it down for a good while to see my dp off to work and then cycle home and on the way inspiration struck which took me up to 990, very unexpectedly (my highest previous was 945 and I think 990 shares no meaning at all with that, but is one you would put in combo with it). So my mind continues to be blown but I think I might get there now!

I like the hints based around the word numbers- they are vague enough that they give nothing away if you aren't asking and actually looking. If someone asks for a hint about word 336, for example, no one will know what that is unless they choose to look it up.

I'm at 932 - I have 12 greens and they are all on the same theme, can I have a hint please? I feel like it should be really obvious now but I can't reach it!

The guy I mentioned in 945's context is often pictured on a kind of box.

@Polgara2 you could think of 945 as a 'set' of things. The secret word is the one of those things that you chose.
