Petrol Sold Out

No unleaded in any of my 3 local stations. Is this just panic buying, or are there actual shortages?

100% inevitable panic buying.

vodkaredbullgirl · 28/02/2022 22:20

Panic buying again.

DockOTheBay · 28/02/2022 22:21

Yes, my local garages ran out of petrol and diesel at the weekend, but fresh deliveries are expected tomorrow. Just people being silly

Unihorn · 28/02/2022 22:22

I'd been wondering if it was panic buying or a genuine reduction in supply. It was low on Friday and Saturday at several local stations but there haven't been any big queues around.

Spaghag · 28/02/2022 22:24

Only Morrisons is short here - but that was also down to their 7p off a litre voucher scheme.

I filled up on Friday but I always do on payday. I was on fumes so couldn't really avoid it.

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 28/02/2022 22:24

Maybe people trying to get topped up before the price rises even further?

oopsIdiditagaintoo · 28/02/2022 22:32

I'm on half a tank, usually fill up once I get down to half. I can last another week to 10 days on the half I have. Hopefully the panic buying will be done in a couple of days.

NoLongerTroels · 28/02/2022 22:34

No queues or shortage round us.

forcedfun · 28/02/2022 22:34

It's fine round here

pajdl · 28/02/2022 22:36

Fine here too, don't think threads like this help to be honest. Just makes more people panic and buy.

Acesup · 28/02/2022 22:54

I'm not sure starting a thread with the title "petrol sold out" is helping tbh

TabithaTittlemouse · 28/02/2022 22:57

There’s none here apparently but it’s a tourist destination so has been busy this half term. I’m on just under quarter of a tank but will wait a few days.

Flapjacker48 · 28/02/2022 23:01

Back to the "topping up" brigade who causes the fuel to run low last year.

Deliberateplanning · 28/02/2022 23:03

Brigade - god how I hate that word

DoormatBob · 28/02/2022 23:05

I thought it was due to price rises? Not strictly panic buying but price has increased 20p since Friday?

RampantIvy · 28/02/2022 23:06

I had no trouble getting any yesterday.

walksen · 28/02/2022 23:09

My local Tesco was out of diesel last week when I topped up during my weekly shop. E10 was sold out on most of the pumps too. The price was still 149p for diesel and 145 for petrol so I figured people aren't panic buying per se. Everyone knows prices will be going up very soon so buying what they could beforehand

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/02/2022 23:18

YAYY!!!! Lets all panic again!

FFS.....when did our stoic Keep Calm and Carry On attitude become Fuck You, Every Person For Themselves?

AdobeWanKenobi · 28/02/2022 23:19

It was happening on Friday, but those who mentioned it were accused of "scaremongering bollocks".
Several Iocal stations had ran out here by Friday evening.

LumpyandBumps · 28/02/2022 23:46

Most supermarkets and garages close to me still have petrol, but all are out of diesel. I have enough diesel to make planned journeys for the next week and am keeping my fingers crossed that things are resolved by then.

JimmyDurham · 01/03/2022 01:51

Fine where we are.

JangolinaPitt · 01/03/2022 01:57

Panic buying -no shortages here -no-be can afford the prices!

Seema1234 · 01/03/2022 03:52

My DM lives in Hants and she said there were queues at the weekend. It's fine where we are so must be panic buying.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 01/03/2022 06:25

No Diesel here (Cheshire) but we're both petrol and that seems ok.
