Is anyone else following it? Grin

Vardy's phone was accidentally dropped into the North Sea... Yeah right!

Such a waste of oxygen. They have no talents, they just married talented overpaid rich blokes. Imagine showcasing having no common sense and no concept of the real world outside of their privileged bubble. It's not even light relief, it's obscene.

Meanwhile women and children are being bombed in war zones, far too many families can't even afford the basics in life in this country, but they are throwing away money to try to protect their overinflated egos.

Like I said: Obscene.

Spot on. 2 talentless pampered divas who would be nothing without their husbands fame and money
squabbling like two 10 year old girls. The only person I feel any sympathy for is poor Peter Andre!!

ValerieCupcake · 11/05/2022 15:35

QuebecBagnet · 11/05/2022 14:21

And how does Vardy know how big Peter Andres willy is? Think I feel most sorry for him getting dragged into this

Apparently he shagged her 20 years ago and only lasted five minutes.

Another one here who cannot fathom what RV was thinking bringing this case. She just should have let the story die. Even if she does win, her reputation is surely in tatters after this.
'Losing" evidence just shouldn't be allowed to be accepted?? It surely prejudices CR that RV cannot be fully put over important evidence.

I really hope CR wins.
I like that Wayne is with her too. She has stood by him through his public embarrassments.

Gymnopedie · 11/05/2022 15:49

TigerLilyTail · 11/05/2022 14:51

I still think that CR said the leaks were coming from RV's account and it seems pretty certain they were coming from RV's account, so I still don't understand the earlier judge's ruling on that one.

I can see where he was coming from in saying 'the ordinary man would think...' but in some ways it seems perverse. Usually in law it's what's written that counts, not what you might interpret or intend it to mean, whether that's in contracts or wills.

However if RV does turn round and say yes it happened but it's all the fault of her agent, then doesn't that make what CR said true - and the defence to defamation is that it was the truth - that it DID come from Vardy's account?

But surely you can’t just claim all the evidence is lost or destroyed? And don't forget the agent, who is 'too ill' to be a witness.

ThreeRingCircus · 11/05/2022 16:05

'Losing" evidence just shouldn't be allowed to be accepted?? It surely prejudices CR that RV cannot be fully put over important evidence.

I agree with this. I'd be interested to know from those more knowledgeable in the law than I am where this leaves CR as obviously it ties her hands somewhat on her ability to offer up proof.

Thunderpunt · 11/05/2022 16:10

I wonder what the other footballers think of this, do they take the piss out of Rooney and Vardy 'see your missus has been spouting shit again' or something like that.. hope they are getting some stick as well

Spudlet · 11/05/2022 16:13

Whatever the outcome of this, I wouldn’t imagine that Rebecca Vardy will be getting too many Christmas cards this year… she is not coming out of this well so far.

JenniferAlisonPhilipaSue · 11/05/2022 16:18

I'm surprised discussions on this are not more active here on MN

I don't even like football and I'm finding it interesting.

Rebekah Vardy is thick as fuck.

newnamethanks · 11/05/2022 16:36

Apparently Mrs Vardy - I read this in DM? This morning - can no longer attend matches to watch Mr V play as the chants about her are too much to bear, this is someone else's fault it seems. I do feel sorry for her husband, he must be mortified.

orangeisthenewpuce · 11/05/2022 16:37

This trial is mindless fluff in a world full of horribleness. It's a welcome distraction

acatcalledjohn · 11/05/2022 16:53

Makes you wonder why her husband has allowed this to continue

As much as I think she is incredibly vapid, the 1950s do want their values back. Vardy is a grown woman, with a voice (albeit a stupid one), who doesn't need her husband to "allow" anything.

If he disagrees with her behaviour/worries about the impact on his career he can divorce her. But he doesn't get to say what she does.

Foxfeeder · 11/05/2022 16:59

Is Jamie Vardy in court? I’ve seen pictures of the Rooneys arriving together (for the Netflix cameras) but court depictions seem to show RV on her own.

ImAvingOops · 11/05/2022 17:02

Sorry but I think her husband does get a say - it's him who is going to have to foot the bill and it's his fame that she is living off. No one would be putting RV in the newspapers or listening to anything she says, we're it not for her husband's associations!
That aside, he must know the way she talks about people and the kinds of information that would come out in court - he'd be well within his rights to tell her not to do it and if she half s brain she'd listen!

Nothing to do with the 1950s - I wouldn't let my husband launch a massively damaging legal case that I would be expected to pay for!

LadyEloise10 · 11/05/2022 17:04

It really is "car crash" stuff.

The world has gone to hell with war in Europe and the suffering that entails, huge price rises, Covid, unemployment etc and this pair of wealthy, pampered women are like 2 children in the play ground. Was RV so short of money .........

I can't believe an ongoing court case can be discussed on here though.

No Jamie Vardy has not been attending Court with his wife and I don't blame him

heavyistheheed · 11/05/2022 17:37

Tbf to JV, football season is still on which means he will probably be in training 6 out of 7 days. I believe he actually has a match this eve.

As I mentioned on another thread though, I'm surprised he's able to even face his team mates after the revelations!

nilpois · 11/05/2022 17:47

Rebekah Vardy is all the things I dislike in a person, two faced, bitchy, and then plays the innocent victim, despite simultaneously coming across
as very arrogant.
I find the whole thing cringeworthy but do hope CR wins.

cleolayne · 11/05/2022 17:51

I don't think Vardy is coming off well

Personal, social, professional suicide

Imagine it’s because it’s a civil trial - judge not a jury so not sub judice.

can’t think why RV took the case at all. Despite deleting loads her Whatsapps are v incriminating

friendlycat · 11/05/2022 18:03

One can only imagine what the hearing would have been like if that phone had not been lost and all that data not lost when being "saved". It would certainly have made interesting reading.

But all of this does show RV to be both incredibly arrogant, and incredibly stupid, to even think that this was a good idea to pursue her ridiculous case. I actually didn't really know much about her before, but I certainly do now and none of the information I have gleaned about her so far is in the slightest bit flattering.

Talk about own goal in stupidity in supposedly "clearing your name", but in the process opening yourself wide open to exposure of what you are really like. It really does defy belief. On another level this must be very uncomfortable for her husband with regards to leaks about team mates etc.

Whatever happens, one outcome is certain in that she really is going to be shunned from the crowd and limelight that she so obviously craves. And as usual, this could all have been avoided and forgotten.

I actually do hope that she gets her due deserves as a lesson that if you play with fire you get burnt.

Jamie vardy plays for leicester and premiership season is still ongoing with games at the weekend so he will be at training. Wayne Rooney is manager of derby county who were in the championship which has finished for the season so he’s effectively on holiday from work this week anyway

newnamethanks · 11/05/2022 18:51

I'm surprised she found representation, she must have been advised against this action. And it's reported she turned down 2 offers to settle. Defies all reason. Entertaining though.

I suppose anyone can get representation if you pay enough! I doubt it’s a no win no fee

KarmaisSweet · 11/05/2022 18:58

Even if RV wins the case for whatever reason, it's pretty obvious she has been selling stories about her husbands team mates and anyone else remotely famous she can find. He will be getting serious stick in the dressing room. She should have just held her hands up and taken the fallout after getting caught.

MyphonedroppedintoColleensboot · 11/05/2022 19:25

i wish all the “they’re both as bad as each other” and “children are dying in Ukraine”posters would jog on.

Other threads are available

I dont see a downside for CR. She needs to defend herself and even if she loses on a technicality it’s small change and a big moral victory for her
