Is anyone else following it? Grin

Vardy's phone was accidentally dropped into the North Sea... Yeah right!

So the only witness on her side is herself? Also surely if you claim you suffered defamation, it implies you had a good reputation in the first place? She didn’t!

Peter Andre's chipolata is getting a lot of airtime.

Peter Andre's chipolata is getting a lot of airtime.

I don't even understand why its been brought up? What's it got to do with her leaking stories? It was an interview.
Or is just showing her type of character and the fact that she has admitted she lied about it?

God, she is just horrid.

Poor guy.

ImAvingOops · 13/05/2022 16:42

I think it's to support the view that CR isn't defaming RV character by accusing her of selling stories since Vardy has an established history of doing so.
I feel for Peter Andre - he's had this all dragged up again and it must be horrible for him and his family to read. If he takes this opportunity to put the boot into RV, who could blame him?

jamimaflange · 14/05/2022 23:43

Will the losing party have to pay their own and their opponents legal costs? Must be talking hundreds of thousands of pounds.

ValerieCupcake · 15/05/2022 21:37

These two need to take a long look at themselves, and think about Deborah James and her problems. The money they have wasted on this trivia could have gone to charity. They make me heave.

Pedallleur · 15/05/2022 22:13

She had made the comment yrs ago (or sold the story) but the barrister brought it up to show she had form for these antics. She denied being the person who would leak or sell a story then this story was introduced.

Depends what the Judge decides. Could be 1p damages. For Rooney it's prob about the character assassination which so far seems to have worked. Costs so far estimated to be 1 million plus. Good news for both legal teams.

We have wagatha continuing today and the return of Depp V Heard

Will I get any work done today? lol

Coleen Rooney has tried to settle out of court 3 times.
We have no idea how much of their money they've previously given to charity.

SellFridges · 16/05/2022 07:53

Coleen Rooney has no choice but to be in court. It’s Vardy who will not settle or drop her case.

burnoutbabe · 16/05/2022 08:46

To be fair it's more Colleen won't apologise and say she was wrong. Offering just money isn't sufficient in a case like this (an offer of amends in legal terms, where papers also must print a big apology as part of their settlement offer)

ImAvingOops · 16/05/2022 09:33

I wouldn't apologise if I was CR - the texts we've seen from RV and what she did to Peter Andre show what sort of person she is. And the phone in the North Sea/computer mysteriously wiped/agent too sick to testify all looks very suspect. Imo the judge ought to have ruled against Vardy already since she's failed to supply evidence.

But, she wasn't wrong. it seems pretty certain that the leaks were coming from Rebekah's Vardy's account.

But, yes, I have a great big bucket of popcorn ready!

DorritLittle · 16/05/2022 12:54

Me too!

MichaelAndEagle · 16/05/2022 13:57

She could have done the 'sorry if...' non apology.
As in 'sorry if the tweet in which I told everyone you are a nasty piece of work caused you and your family distress'

But yeah, I wouldn't apologise for saying she did it when she obviously did!
Coleen is standing up to the mean girl for all of us!!

user1471543094 · 16/05/2022 14:42

I don't think RV has done enough to prove that she didn't leak the story (her defence seems to be that she "jokes" about leaking stories but didn't about THIS one). The messages between her and her agent about looking at Colleen's account are surely very telling.
Oh and also she was pregnant and apparently should never say anything bad about someone who is pregnant.

CR says she has screenshots showing that RV's account was the only one who viewed the stories that were leaked. Surely that is proof then? And she could reasonably be expected to believe that she was in fact telling the truth when she made the post.

Does the fact that Collen THOUGHT she was telling the truth at least help her at all. From her point of view, she wasn't lying or making it up. To her it was quite clearly Vardy's account.
If for some reason she was wrong (which I doubt) - does the fact that she 100% believe this to be truth help her?

ImAvingOops · 16/05/2022 14:54

Vardy's defence team yesterday were were going with the 'believing something to be true isn't the same as knowing' approach. This seems weak to me given that Vardy has mysteriously lost all the evidence that Rooney was entitled to in order to prove it!

Justyou · 16/05/2022 14:56

The woman in charge of the seating allocations at the game where RV swapped seats has just completely shown the lawyer up 🤣

God I wish everyone had to absolutely 100% fact check everything they posted on social media, especially these days.

I think it is fair to assume that CR has done all she could to prove it was RV. Must have been annoying to let stories run that she knew weren't true (she said that she was asked for comment) but let them knowing that she needed the proof.

When this started I was convinced Vardy would win on a technicality at least but I'm not so sure now.

I am faaar too invested in this!!

user1471543094 · 16/05/2022 16:22

So RV has left early today for an appointment? What appointment couldn't be rescheduled the week you are in court!

ImAvingOops · 16/05/2022 17:07

She left early? Bloody hell!

TigerLilyTail · 16/05/2022 17:13

CR says she has screenshots showing that RV's account was the only one who viewed the stories that were leaked. Surely that is proof then? And she could reasonably be expected to believe that she was in fact telling the truth when she made the post.

I think the problem is that the previous judge ruled that by saying RV's account, people would infer it was RV that was leaking stories, so CR needs to prove that RV did in fact know and condone that the stories were being leaked from her account.

RV is doing her best to muddy the waters by saying that multiple people had access to her account and it could have been a previous employee. CR is doing a good job, I think, of showing a pattern of behaviour from RV of leaking stories to the press and the messages seem to imply she knew that her agent Caroline Watts was the one leaking the stories about CR. Hard to know what the judge thinks though!

orangeisthenewpuce · 16/05/2022 19:45

I don't understand why, if multiple people had access to Vardy's account, those people aren't being called as witnesses.
