Favourite yummy thing to treat yourself to

Mine are hands down cupcakes, I never really had a sweet tooth upto about a year ago when I started baking rice krispie buns (hence the username) to give out to homeless people. Then I also sampled cupcakes and got hooked, though I generally only treat myself once a fortnight.

What is your favourite thing to treat yourself to?

FloraPotts · 08/02/2022 19:25

A boudoir biscuit dipped in a heap of semi-frozen berries with a tiny scoop of Ben & Jerry's macadamia nut ice cream.

A baguette with butter, brie, ham and chutney.
Or if I'm feeling very naughty, chilli heatwave doritos with melted spicy nacho cheese.
Mmmmmm...🤤

Cheese on sourdough toast with pickled onions
Scampi fries dipped in guacamole
Twiglets dipped in soft boiled egg

Fayekrista · 08/02/2022 19:31

Cheese (any cheese really except blue) & crackers
Tiger bread crusty loaf with proper butter
Tyrells salted crisps
Salted peanuts
Proper thick ham or gammon
Pork crackling (homemade not the packets)

I have a very savoury & SALTY taste preference I've just realised 🤣😱

Waiting for someone to say celery...

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 08/02/2022 19:33

And fried white bread sprinkled with sugar.....just like doughnuts!

DeathMetalMum · 08/02/2022 19:33

Fresh cream cakes/pastries.

Apple or raspberry turnovers with fresh cream or a fresh cream sponge.

Crisps.

SquirrelFan · 08/02/2022 19:33

Hot buttered popcorn.

WellTidy · 08/02/2022 19:36

Almond croissants. Though they’re getting to be pretty much an ‘every other day’ treat at the moment, which is problematic as they’re 370 calories

I also love krispy kreme chocolate dream cake donut (but not many of the others), as the chocolate cream filling is just addictive

Massive fan of fry’s Turkish Delight

Sourdough toast and lime marmalade

Cadburys crème eggs - I know people say the recipe has changed and they’re not what they used to be etc, but I still bloody love them

WellTidy · 08/02/2022 19:37

How could I have forgotten haagen daaz strawberry cheesecake ice cream?!

RowanAlong · 08/02/2022 19:42

A donner kebab with salad and mayo or a good cheeseburger. Sweet wise, anything chocolate.

scottishnames · 08/02/2022 21:04

This isn't celery - which incidentally I like a lot - but it IS simple:

I don't normally eat much bread (prefer oatcakes) and I don't normally like butter.
But decades ago, I had to go to London, near Liverpool St, for work from time to time. There was a fabulous bakery on a corner there; the counters were staffed by delightful but brisk older east-London ladies. I wish I could remember the name. Posh, commanding city gents would queue meekly to buy their lunchtime rolls. The bakery's fresh white rye bread with caraway seeds, thickly sliced, and cold salted butter, with a glass of French red, was utterly delicious when I got back home after a long journey. Very sadly, the bakery closed years ago and was knocked down to make room for an expensive new building.

Dillidilly · 08/02/2022 22:00

At the moment, Cadbury's Caramel eggs.
And the individual M&S chocolate muffins.
I'm trying to treat myself just once a week to one or the other.
Now I want a caramel egg...

Dillidilly · 08/02/2022 22:07

Oooh, and a peanut butter and jam sandwich, with the filling so thick it splidges out of the side when you bite into it, with a glass of really cold milk

Perfectlystill · 08/02/2022 22:21

Gin and tonic with a packet of Dirty Fries spicy crisps.

Cheeseburger and chips with a large glass of Pinot Noir.

One of those apricot Danish pastries from M&S with a flat white from Caffè Nero
