Levi Bellfield!!

He’s a piece of work isn’t he?!

The Russell murders was the 1st case that really stayed with me and shocked me as a teenager and I have followed it ever since.

I’d love for there to be a definitive answer and right the right person to be held accountable but Bellfield is a classic narcissist and psychopath and toying with this confession and all the details he’s given to get a bit of lime light and cause further distress is right up his street...

I read today what when he finally gave all the really awful details of Milly Dowlers murder he would only do so to female officers...make of rhat what you will!

I’ve also seen that the police believe he could be behind many other murders and assaults in the London’s area and beyond, I think of all the old crime watch reconstructions, cold cases that come into the press often and think which of those he could be behind and the poor families still waiting for answers...

His ex girlfriend, who naturally can't stand him, says he was with her the entire day of the Russell murders, as it was her birthday. 100 miles away from the scene of the crime. He's just saying it for attention.

I find it quite disturbing that people are already expressing sympathy towards Michael Stone presumably Based on their understandable hatred of Bellfield and their desire to believe that he’s guilty.

Wish we could just hang him. What a vile human being no point to his life. How are people like comfortable in their skin beyond me.

I’m not convinced.

It goes without saying that he is a morally reprehensible piece of filth, but it’s not uncommon for notorious murderers like him to make fake confessions in order to A, gain attention and B, gain further notoriety in prison.

The police have already urged caution here, and Michael Stone has been denied appeal on several occasions.

I think we can hold off the sympathy for him until or if there is a prosecution.

This would be my view too.

Did they ever give the DNA results for the boot lace that the police lost?
The shoelace was found in 2020 I believe. It had been stored away. I'm not sure about the DNA though.

I don't think Bellfield is telling the truth to be honest.

If you’d read up on Michael Stones history and why he was tied to the Russell murders I find it unbelievable that you’d have any sympathy for him or think he was innocent OP!

Bellfield probably did commit other murders and it’s believed Stone did at least one other one too in addition to other stabbings and hammer attacks. He should have been locked up for good well before the Russell murders.

I was already convinced he was guilty. There's nothing to tie MS to the attack

Bellfield had already confessed, a long time back, to being in the Chillendon area at the time of the killings

I've only had a brief read but there is plenty to tie M.S to the murders. Most of it was inadmissible in court, but all fully corroborated.

i had not heard of yellow rubber/marigolds being at the scene in any form.

police do keep quiet some aspects of a crime.....i wonder if Josie had recalled seeing them, or if there was residue found forensically

It was on a documentary some years ago.
The murders happened on her birthday and she says he was absolutely with her all day.
People who knew MS are also convinced of his guilt. He'd been threatening to attack a woman with a hammer in the days leading up to the murders and was known to be filled with rage.

what forensic evidence?

it was fellow prisoner, Daley who said Said Stone had confessed....

Reading the part of that confession which has been revealed in the bbc article, it just smacks of being fake to me. All that talk of how his head was in the wrong place etc etc and then going on to tell the whole story of how he did it etc.

Sorry but I just don’t believe it. I absolutely believe that he was capable of it make no mistake, but I still believe that Michael Stone is guilty as fuck.

Apparently Bellfield has given details in his confession that only the killer would know.
