Confident people who say they are not confident 🙄

Have you ever come across confident people who say they are not confident? Would you call that pure self deprecation?

That's me op. I come across as confident- it's a coping skill. In reality I have cripplingly low self esteem and a history of fairly well hidden mental health issues.

Comes from feeling like I had to pretend I was a big girl and everything was fine as a child.

Honestly you really don't know how anyone feels inside or the things they're dealing with.
