Celeb scandals of the 90s

I'd forgotten all about Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland until I read this piece about it. And then wondered how I could've forgotten as it was huge! And those were the days before social media!

I never realised that Michelle Pfeiffer played a conciliatory role or that the wedding cake apparently spoke to a tabloid reporter!

What are some scandals you remember from that period? (I'm housebound with Covid - humour me!)

When spike Milligan called Prince Charles a snivelling bastard or something like that, and then cheekily wrote to him saying ‘I suppose a knighthood’s out of the question ?’ !
Supposedly Prince Charles replied something along the lines of "you could try a little grovelling"GrinGrinGrin

They were very good friends.

Not quite 90s I think very early 00s but Sadie Frost and Jude Law's daughter eating an ecstasy tablet at a London club.

There is a very long post on Tattle Life about the Primrose Hill set of the 90s and early 00s.

Sadie's daughter is now a model. As is her son and the children of several members of the Primrose Hill set. Nepotism? Surely not!

I was always fascinated by Mandy Smith story with Bill.
I’m originally from East Europe and this was in the papers here in the 80s.
I remember listening to her songs which were strangely played in there- song called:
I just can’t wait.
I just bought the biography book, always wanted to read it and it was always sold out.
Also thought we were behind the Iron curtain we heard all about Hugh Grant blow job, Brad and Gvyn, Freddy, Take That and Robbie, Royal family like Charles/ Diana ( I remember me buying a book about her in the 1992 in the bookshop I worked.

Was it poor Leslie Ash who 'fell out of bed' in a sex session and ended up in hospital? She's never really recovered from the legacy health issues resulting from that accident. Really sad.

A lot of people mentioning Noel Gallagher and Michael Hutchence… the feud with Blur was pretty petty too. I remember him saying that he hoped Damon and Alex die of AIDS.

And then there’s the picture of him shaking hands with Tony Blair. That aged poorly.

Ironically Noel’s close friends with Damon now - they’ve even played on each other’s albums.

I remember another one - Sinead O'Connor tearing up a picture of the Pope on live TV! Didn't she later become some sort of nun and change her name? She was a troubled soul and I think her son died quite recently.

I had a bright green wonderbra. It was awesome, kept my boobs somewhere under my chin.

All the pressure on TV presenters to get their tits out for loaded and the like was awful. Gail Porter naked on the Houses of Parliament, shudder.

Anna Nicole Smith being all over every magazine and newspaper. Then becoming an addict iirc. Then marrying the ancient millionaire. Then he died and there was a battle over his money and then I think her teenage son died. What a sad life she led. I suspect that wasn't all in the 90's though.

Who remembers when Tom and Nicole split up? Think it may have been early 2000s rather than 90s but it seemed to come out of the blue and it was later revealed that she had a miscarriage soon after.

Within a few months he started dating Penelope Cruz and went full on PDA with her for a couple of years.

And though no one knew it at the time, Nicole was going out with Lenny Kravitz and even got engaged to him!

@Figgygal it was a huge rumour based on the fact that Andi P supposedly followed
Take That around on tour. I think there was more to it than that but my memory is hazy on the details. I'm going to google now.
