I never use my grill - other than for storage of cake tins etc.
We use the oven for cooking stuff.
It’s an integrated type oven with grill in the top

What do you cook in yours? I’m totally lost 🤣🤣

Cheese on toast and kippers are pretty much the only things my grill cooks

As little as possible as I hate cleaning it.

Just toast, cheese on toast, or anything that needs melting.
I don’t cook food in it, like burgers, due to the cleaning of it.

Cheese on toast
Toasting seeds and nuts.

TroysMammy · 30/01/2022 08:42

Buns that only need one side toasted as my toaster doesn't have a bagel facility, cheese on toast and omelettes. Everything else goes in the air fryer.

TheOrigRights · 30/01/2022 08:51

@Sausagis

Mines a small top oven/grill and gets used on Xmas day to cook Yorkshire puddings. That is it.
You grill Yorkshire puddings? I am baffled!
WeAreTheHeroes · 30/01/2022 09:03

I'm guessing she means she cooks them using the oven function as it's an oven and grill.

Crunchymum · 30/01/2022 09:07

Ours is an oven grill. The grill part broke about 3 years ago. Haven't missed it at all (over part works but we rarely use that either)

Do eventually need to replace the cooker but whilst it does the job?

CurryLover55 · 30/01/2022 09:08

Now I really fancy cheese on toast!

Crunchymum · 30/01/2022 09:08

*oven

Wow didn’t see all these other replies!
So basically it’s either good for cheese on toast or as a small oven :)

Thanks all! I may sleep well tonight 😊

2 months ago I bought my first camping grill, but I haven't cooked any meat using this at camp, because I use it in the backyard. I like doing hot dogs and burgers here because it is pretty small, but it is enough for me and my daughter. The meat is amazing, really. Need to cook cheese soon, but I'm afraid I can't stop eating it.

LadyLolaRuben · 13/05/2022 06:42

As above plus corn on cob

TheChosenTwo · 13/05/2022 06:55

Bacon and all bread based toasting is done in the grill because we don’t have a toaster.

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 13/05/2022 06:58

Mine's a grill and microwave so toasted stuff on the grill and mainly beans or curry ready meals (dd) in the microwave.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/05/2022 07:04

when i have a boiled egg, i use the grill for toast
toast the omelette
cheese on toast
i dont use it for sausages or bacon due to the mess and smoke detector

ChuckMater · 13/05/2022 07:33

Cheese on toast

FantaLover · 13/05/2022 07:49

Our cooker is dual fuel - gas hob with 6 burners & 2 electric ovens. One large one & one small one. Both have grill function but we only ever use the small one as the grill..
We use our girl a lot -
Sausages / bacon/ pudding/ tomatoes
Bagels/ English muffins/ burger buns/ hot cross buns
Cheese on toast
Chicken in a couple of recipes
Salmon in a couple of recipes
Steak occasionally (though we use bbq more these days )
Burgers

We only use it as an actual oven very infrequently but it's handy to have if cooking for a crowd

We use our large over a huge amount too

We don't have a microwave or airfryer or deep fried or slow cooker so our cooker is used multiple times every day

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/05/2022 09:12

Cheese on toast, and the sort of thing I might cook on a barbecue in summer - e.g. cut up chicken thighs marinated in a chilli-honey type mix and threaded on to skewers. Or pork fillet kebabs that will go Cyprus-style into pittas with salad.
