Lakeland heated throw.

I’m looking at buying a heated throw. The one in Lakeland says 2p to run? Has anyone found it to be this cheap. Does anyone have it and is it any good.

This thread is old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for advice on keeping warm this winter, we’ve recently updated our best heated throw page with plenty of toasty Mumsnetter-approved blankets. We hope you find it useful.

Just went online to buy it. And it has been discontinued. Should have bought it in the shop when I saw it

I have a relaxwell one, and you’d have to prise it from my still-toasty-warm dead fingers, I love it so much. I’m snuggled under it now.

I have an Argos one, had it for years and love it!

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2022 22:27

I only need my Lakeland star one on the first setting. It's so toasty! I also don't bother to put the heating or the gas fire on. So probably does save money. And it stays warm for ages when switched off.

ButtockUp · 25/01/2022 22:28

@Paranoidandroidmarvin , I've just checked on Amazon and they are selling the Lakeland one in various types.

My husband got me one a couple of years ago - I love it.

whatnumber · 25/01/2022 22:33

We have one for us.
My animals love it!

hugoagogo · 25/01/2022 22:34

Mine is a dreamland one from amazon. Dh earned himself a whole load of brownie points with that present. Smile

UnicornPoopsRainbows · 25/01/2022 22:51

We need to have our doors open often (toilet training puppy) and I’ve got one from Amazon on the sofa. It is so cheap to run and saves us lots of money from not needing to put the heating on. It gets very very hot too - I usually just have it on the lowest setting and it is toasty warm

Can you wash the Aldi one, do you know?

Berthatydfil · 27/01/2022 18:58

Yes there is a way to disconnect the electric cable on the throw
BuddhaAtSea · 28/01/2022 07:35

@Berthatydfil thank you :)

SomewhereOnlyIKnow · 28/01/2022 07:39

Is there any safety concerns with these like there used to be with electric blankets ?

User2638483 · 28/01/2022 07:47

I rate the dreamland luxury one , about £50 from Amazon or John Lewis.

And whoever asked above - yes it has to be plugged in to be warm but the lead is really long

User2638483 · 28/01/2022 07:47

Re. Safety with the dreamland one you set it to go off after 1, 3, 6 or 9 hours I think it is.
And then can also adjust temperature 1-6

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 28/01/2022 07:56

Anyone have any idea of the cost of running these mentioned above. I went for the Lakeland one as it said how to run it.

Mine has a timer so it goes off after a certain time.

Did you get from Lakeland online in the end?
FinallyFree2022 · 28/01/2022 10:46

Has anyone got the over the shoulder style one? I need something like that for wfh and wondered how easy it is to move about and type etc with it on.

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 28/01/2022 11:56

I didn’t buy one yet. As I wasn’t sure about the expense of running another one. So not sure

MaggieFS · 28/01/2022 14:37

I think I'm going to get one. It's got to be cheaper than putting the heating on and despite jumpers, fleeces and blankets, I normally end up putting the heating on by 3pm every day. Surely the throw would be cheaper?

So, Dreamland or Lakeland?

MrsWooster · 28/01/2022 14:53

Ivevlirteralku just received a CosiHome one as a present from some colleagues (via Amazon) and it’s gorgeous! In the hour I’ve had it, I don’t feel qualifies to comment on its fuel costs but it will definitely save having a full bar of the electric fire on in the living room, so it’ll have to go some to cost more than it saves.

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 28/01/2022 16:20

@MaggieFS I wish I knew.
