Lakeland heated throw.

I’m looking at buying a heated throw. The one in Lakeland says 2p to run? Has anyone found it to be this cheap. Does anyone have it and is it any good.

This thread is old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for advice on keeping warm this winter, we’ve recently updated our best heated throw page with plenty of toasty Mumsnetter-approved blankets. We hope you find it useful.

I think Lakeland is out - the colours aren't appealing to me

@Paranoidandroidmarvin

I didn’t buy one yet. As I wasn’t sure about the expense of running another one. So not sure
Is it the 160W one?

Why aren't you sure about the cost? Uness you have a very expensive electricity tariff it's 3ish pence per hour

I’ve got one in a horrible poo brown colour but I overlook the aesthetics because it’s bloody amazing. When I researched it said it cost 8p per 12 hours to run. I would still want to be without it now, or the electric under blanket on my bed!

I finally caved. And have bought a grey one from John Lewis.

Well done OP

Just wanted to say. I have had this heated blanket from John Lewis for a while now. And it is amazing. So lovely and warm. And haven’t noticed the smart meter going up

I don't have a Lakeland one but the one I bought last winter is the best thing I bought, in a very long time.
I really, really, really suffer in the cold, I get cold very easily, can't function at all and I can detect a draft at about 30 metres.
I'm always cold (- except when I have my heated throw) and then when it gets to about 28 degrees in summer, I suffer in the heat instead.

I timed mine on the meter - I had a couple of fridges and a freezer on as well, but nothing else. It cost 1/10th of a unit. In contrast an oil filled radiator cost 1 unit. I've no idea how much a unit is, though!

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 05/02/2022 20:15

No idea. But it is cheaper than putting my heating on. So under the blanket I go. I have achieved nothing today other than starting my new book. But hey. All that can wait for another day.

DH and I both have Dreamland ones. They are totally amazing and we don't use the central heating at all.
