Has anyone else not had covid?

Just wondering how many others have managed to avoid it. My husband had it before Christmas and I was doing daily LFTs / had a PCR but didn’t catch it somehow, not really sure how as we weren’t really distancing

DD has just had it and despite me isolating with her and sleeping in the same bed, I still haven't caught it. OH and DS didn't either, although they were keeping their distance.

Pyri · 14/01/2022 17:54

I’m amazed at some of these, especially those working in hospitals / schools

Me, really thought I would as my husband has had it twice but thankfully I've been okay (touch wood!)

I want to say yes but I’ve spent all day giving IV monoclonal antibodies to symptomatic COVID patients so I think I might jinx myself!!!

YukoandHiro · 14/01/2022 18:00

I haven't had it yet despite having a few close contacts

whoopstheregoesmyshouldet · 14/01/2022 18:05

Me. Both kids had it and I was lying with youngest a lot when he was poorly but didn't get it.

stripeyflowers · 14/01/2022 18:12

How are people so certain whether or not they've had it? I've not test positive at any point but I don't think that means I definitely haven't had it?

BahHumbygge · 14/01/2022 18:32

I might have had it asymptomatically Mar/Apr 2020. Asymptomatically, in that I felt fully 110% fine, no fatigue, achiness, feeling rough at all, was keeping myself busier and more active than normal... gardening, walking miles out to the farm shop, extra long dog walks etc. But, mid March my glands felt they were coming up, which turned into a tiny tickley throat and a very slight bleachy feeling in my lungs (no worse than walking into a freshly cleaned public toilet). Also I had a couple of night sweats around Easter 2020 where I woke up with the sheets and duvet drenched in sweat as if someone had chucked a bucket of water over me.

My husband caught something weird at the beginning of Feb 2020, felt different than a usual cold, really grotty but didn't turn serious. He also had the awful non-covid Supercold at the end of October 2021, neither of which I caught.

MissCalamity · 14/01/2022 18:32

I've not had it either as far as I'm aware.
DS had it over Christmas but the other 3 in our household didn't get it and we didn't make him isolate.

I've worked in the office for 2 days a week and home 2 days since it began, so I am a bit surprised I've not picked it up, however like many others I may speak too soon as so many people I know have tested positive in the last month. I've had my booster over Christmas so hoping if it does catch up with me, it'll be a mild dose 🤞🏻

dubyalass · 14/01/2022 18:35

I don't know. I had a very faint positive on three LFTs but the PCR was negative. I did an antibody test but annoyingly it just said I had antibodies, not where they were from (part of a trial, was hoping it would distinguish between them!). I'm triple jabbed and was sat close to someone on Friday who then tested positive on Tuesday, but none of the rest of us have caught it; just tested again but still negative thank goodness..

SarahJessicaParkin · 14/01/2022 18:38

Not had it as far as I know. I do feel like it's possibly inevitable now though, as my job is public facing. Just waiting to catch it, but somehow haven't yet

When my parents died I had tests over the next couple of weeks and they were all clear.

I have been self testing on and off and, again, clear.

I have had absolutely no symptoms not even a sniffle.

Both my siblings were quite ill with it and one still has long covid.

I still can't believe that neither me or DH has had it. If we had wanted to catch it we honestly could not really have tried harder than looking after my mum

TroysMammy · 14/01/2022 19:48

I haven't and neither has my partner who hasn't been vaccinated. None of my 9 colleagues have caught it and our place of work is a GP surgery.

CallmeHendricks · 15/01/2022 08:55

The government site gives figures on how many have (officially) had it.
Last time I checked (a week or two ago), it was somewhere around the 13 million mark (since the beginning of the pandemic). That makes well over 50 million who haven't - to their knowledge anywhere. There will be many asymptomatic people out there of course.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 15/01/2022 08:57

i think i heard it was one in fifteen currently.
so i am one of the fifteen who dont have and have never tested positive

CornishGem1975 · 15/01/2022 08:59

None of my household has had it and that includes children at nursery, primary and secondary schools.

I have been having antibody blood tests done every 3 months for the past 17 months and they have all shown that I have never had covid (they are looking for infection antibodies not vaccine antibodies) so I am pretty sure I have never had it.
underneaththeash · 15/01/2022 09:34

I've not had it either.
Primary care HCP, 3 children at 3 different school. Don't wear a mask unless legally required/for work.
Out and about as usual into London on public transport/tube.
Everyone in the house had it in November, didn't isolate. Still didn't get it.

Weird.

MajorCarolDanvers · 15/01/2022 09:37

None of my family have had it.

Nor many of my friends or colleagues.

Babdoc · 15/01/2022 09:38

It is possible to have it completely asymptomatically. Many people probably had it this way during the first wave, before testing was widely available.
So we can’t really even guess how many people are in this category. Especially as antibodies wane quite quickly after infection-
I was hospitalised with Covid in March 2020, but antibody negative by July 2020.

Nidan2Sandan · 15/01/2022 09:40

Well, there is still some 55 million people who havent had it.

Haveyoubrushedyourteethtoday · 15/01/2022 09:41

My husband an son have it. My daughter and I are very symptomatic. Sore throat, chills, aches. Same symptoms as the boys. I’ve done pcr - negative. She’s done several rapid tests - negative. I just don’t get it!

Zombiemum1946 · 15/01/2022 09:45

We'd been lucky despite a couple of close calls at work (I'm nhs). Then my eldest went out with friends and one of the little buggers apparently didn't understand he shouldn't have gone out after a positive test 3 days earlier. Managed to infect at least 15 people that we know of including kids. It's been 9 days now and I still feel like crap. Dh and dd have been fine just slight symptoms. Ds was very unwell and like me is still coughing. It's knocked my epilepsy off and I've had to up my meds. Sucks big time.

Gooseysgirl · 15/01/2022 09:49

Myself, DH and DS(age 8) haven't had it. DH and I have been regularly testing since LFTs started and both triple vaxxed. DD(age 9) had it end of Oct and none of us caught it from her. I'm travelling to see family in two weeks time... Sod's law I will get it the day before I fly!!!!

DontKeepTheFaith · 15/01/2022 09:49

DH, DS1 and I haven’t had it. Ds2 did.

I’m NHS and worked closely with COVID positive patients when we had an outbreak, this was a year ago, just a few days after my first vaccine and I didn’t get it then and still haven’t.

Have always followed rules but never washed shopping or anything like that.
