Boris’ rubbish excuse - how?!

Blinkingbatshit · 12/01/2022 12:47

How many companies/ businesses were having office parties in May 2020?!!! Seriously, that’s his excuse?! How can he genuinely keep coming out with this shit?! How can they not hold him to account? The Tory party MUST do something - any shred of credibility they have left is at risk.🤬

At my old job we used to go to the pub after work, and stand in the alley outside and, drink in hand, talk about work and make plans for work strategies. These were basically work meetings.

I wonder what would have happened if, in May 2020, I’d invited 100 colleagues to come to stand outside the pub with me to talk about work over a drink.

Oh yeah, I remember. I’d get arrested and fined thousands of pounds.

Remember those women who got fined for holding a coffee cup while exercising?

Remember the vicar who got fined £10000 for holding an outdoors sevice? She was working eh Boris.

The government, legally, are in my view obliged to revoke and refund every single lockdown fine on the grounds that the law was applied inconsistently to different groups of people. That’s unlawful.

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2022 13:59

Remember you couldn't sit down and rest when you were out on your daily excersise not allowed a bloody seat but yeah crack on downing Street with your socially distance drinks in the garden!

Thirtytimesround · 12/01/2022 14:00

The most damning thing is, either:

  1. Boris and his team created the lockdown laws and then deliberately and routinely broke those laws while demanding everyone else follow them, or
  1. Boris and his team are genuinely so incredibly stupid that they were unable to understand the lockdown laws, despite the fact that these were at the time being explained in simple language every day on the news. Often by them.

If Boris is really claiming to be as stupid as he says he is, that is also a reason to not let him lead a country.

Whether he is removed for deceitful law breaking or removed for breathtaking stupidity and incompetence… Either way, he should go.

ASTONISHING that its still Labours fault apparently.

We are DOOMED.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 12/01/2022 14:11

Also, in what way was it necessary for 100 people to be in no 10 at all? Everyone else was at home holding meetings over Teams/Zoom unless their job involved something that you physically can’t do at home. So even before the drinks were included, they should have gone “100 people? Nope.”

Why is Labour unelectable

Boris’ rubbish excuse - how?!

Why is Labour unelectable

Because that poster could equally made up of racist comments by Tory MPs including Johnson, but that apparently doesn't matter to the electorate?

SirChenjins · 12/01/2022 14:24

Exactly @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

How big would the poster have to be to adequately describe the failings of Our Great Leader and his henchpeople, I wonder.

shadypines · 12/01/2022 14:37

Who is able to judge what 2 metres is during a booze session? Ffs.

InAState22 · 12/01/2022 14:41

The man is an arrogant, lying, egotistical twat.

Just like my EXh in fact.

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 12/01/2022 14:45

Can't copy it over but Jim Pickard has tweeted that almost 2,000 people have been prosecuted at Westminster magistrates court for breaking lockdown rules. Got to be some legal folk who will take on these cases and say if the PM didn't know if he was acting within the rules, how can those convictions stand?

friendlycat · 12/01/2022 14:50

It was a very "lawyered up" style statement. He used the word "we" a lot, he apologised but not for much, he did not admit to the email or the word party etc. etc.

He constantly referred back to the ongoing investigation.
He did not do enough and there is still quite a way to run with this.

Cummings is behind the constant drip, drip feeding of negative info. He puts a bit in on his constant blogging, waits for the inevitable furore. Things calm down a bit, then the next missile is hurled. He obviously has loads of incriminating info and will not be happy until BJ and Carrie are out of Downing Street.

Presumably this will just run and run until there is no road left.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation

I wish people understood just how much tory politicians despise the public. I mean, really despise them.

There, fixed that for you

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2022 14:57

D C really hates them doesn't he ! Well Carrie mostly.

Yes he certainly does and he won't stop until they are out.

Though BJ seems perfectly capable of ballsing things up on his own as well.

The problem is that he has lied all of his life in both his private life and career and got away with it. Unfortunately it doesn't wash when you are the serving PM. I think his days are numbered.

jgw1 · 12/01/2022 15:06

@Karmakamelion

Why is Labour is unelectable?
Because Jeremy Corbyn, surely you know that.
jlpartnerrs · 12/01/2022 15:08

One thing stands between an AAA and a CCC country rating and that's reputation, everything else flows from that. These clowns are pissing that away, don't you find that concerning?

It is a plausible argument that Cummings is getting his revenge.

But that does not explain how Johnson so spectacularly messed up the business of Owen Paterson's corruption.

@AssignedBlobbyAtBirth

Why is Labour unelectable
Goodness is the reason not Jeremy Corbyn anymore? Are you able to tell me when Nasty Party HQ changed that advice?
AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 12/01/2022 15:17

I think the LP are a disgrace with their bullying of women and support for male rapists in women's prisons
That doesn't mean I don't also think the Tories will do anything for working people and that BJ is an arse
They are all terrible in different ways

AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 12/01/2022 15:19

Anyway the LP actually said they do not want the votes of women who think woman=female or LGB who are part of the LGB alliance so there you go
They are a niche party who abuse anyone who does not adhere to their thinking

girlmom21 · 12/01/2022 15:19

It doesn't matter whether Labour are currently unelectable. We've got another 3 years of a Tory government anyway.

I don't know why any of this comes as a surprise to anyone. Genuinely, I am bewildered by people reacting as though this is shocking.

The country collectively elected a man who was sacked from his previous two jobs for lying. He's a known liar. He's also known to be a racist, a misogynist and a homophobe. He was a member of the 'Bullingdon Club' which has an entrance requirement of setting fire to a £50 note in front of a homeless person.

His behaviour is exactly as it should be expected to be.

You are completely correct.

My one regret is that I did not make more noise about this at the last GE.
