Boris’ rubbish excuse - how?!

Blinkingbatshit · 12/01/2022 12:47

How many companies/ businesses were having office parties in May 2020?!!! Seriously, that’s his excuse?! How can he genuinely keep coming out with this shit?! How can they not hold him to account? The Tory party MUST do something - any shred of credibility they have left is at risk.🤬

@KaptainKaveman

Of course he's lying. It's his modus operandi. The man is despicable and cowardly. Unfit for any public serving role.
You are so right. He couldn’t lie straight in bed that one.
summertimerolls · 12/01/2022 13:14

I'm just hoping there's pictures or video about to drop.

I think we have to assume there's more to come. Whoever is behind this (Cummings most likely) is playing a long game, leaving enough time between each leak for Johnson to tie himself up in knots that then further strangle him on the next revelation

nitsandwormsdodger · 12/01/2022 13:17

I’ve been eagerly bring prossecco and Brie to every meeting shouting “ it’s been a tough week!”

What the problem with that !?

I'm beginning to believe the oaf never had Covid at all. The timelines just don't make sense. We were led to believe he was very poorly in hospital and yet a few weeks later he was at a large garden party and No 10?

I was saying this to DH this morning, the slow leak is so much more damaging than a everything at once

I doubt there is a photo or video of the 20th May party. But feel certain that in about 3 weeks time there will be another story about more law breaking by the Prime Minister.

@SirChenjins

The man doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks of him - he genuinely doesn't care about you, me, the thousands who have died and their loved ones, the people who are struggling every single day. He has some form of personality disorder and he just doesn't care - and that's how he manages to sleep at night and go about his daily life.
This..and its bloody scary !!
SirChenjins · 12/01/2022 13:20

@PhilCornwall1

he genuinely doesn't care about you, me, the thousands who have died and their loved ones, the people who are struggling every single day.

But does anyone think he ever did?

Yes, I think some people did, esp after he was in ICU - a man of the people who had experienced first hand how terrifying covid was. Now I think it's become apparent that he genuinely doesn't give a flying fuck (or indeed any other form of fuck).
Lipsandlashes · 12/01/2022 13:23

Cummings is definitely the type to have a whole cache of Tory wrongdoing. This is just the beginning.

Yup.

Hopefully he has some lots on Gove and Rishi too...and every other Tory MP.

The constant drip drip drip may just erode the foundations on their blue wall.

stripeyflowers · 12/01/2022 13:29

The government and the media used scare tactics and powerful, emotive, manipulative language at the time (2020) to browbeat us all into taking covid/corona virus seriously in order to avoid untold deaths.

Looking at the photos of the first party which came out a while ago (before vaccines) and now learning of this latest little 'jolly' I can't help thinking they hardly look or act like people who fear killing themselves and potentially others by passing on a deadly virus.

Confused
noblegiraffe · 12/01/2022 13:32

No work mentioned in the email. Booze was, as was making the most of the weather.

What work were they discussing that 100 people were invited to but less than half attended, with booze?

roarfeckingroarr · 12/01/2022 13:34

I had work drinks during that time. We went outside with wine and chatted work, ish.

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2022 13:34

Another who says he doesn't give a shit "drinks" have been part of his work and private life forever so of course he thought it was a work do why wouldn't he! He and his party are not fit for purpose and I wish there was a way to sack him. (Is there a way to sac, him)

noblegiraffe · 12/01/2022 13:34

Which makes them idiots given it put Boris in ICU and appears to have severely damaged his brain.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 12/01/2022 13:35

I wish people understood just how much tory politicians despise the public. I mean, really despise them.

roarfeckingroarr · 12/01/2022 13:38

There are so many more important things to talk about. The suffering faced by families who lost loved ones was not made worse by the actions of Downing St/civil service start.

Liz truss didn’t lift her eyes off the floor during pmq’s; she’d been told to go but wasn’t happy. Pritti Patel was like a seal clapping and cheering; clearly not bright enough to see that supporting the lying oaf will be her own downfall too!

Karmakamelion · 12/01/2022 13:41

Why is Labour is unelectable?

JenniferAlisonPhilippaSue · 12/01/2022 13:44

@lilikiki
“ I would actually like to know who was the one pushing these rules and lockdowns etc if our own PM and cabinet clearly didn’t actually believe in them too? So why did we have them? Whose idea was it?”

The PM and cabinet didn’t feel that they needed to abide by the social distancing rules because they knew that they were bs, that the NHS wasn’t in danger of being overwhelmed and that focused protection of the elderly/vulnerable was all the could be done.
They never wanted them - there was herd immunity remember. I guess it was China that wanted them - why else did they release those scaremongering videos of people dropping dead in the street? It’s been a highly effective “attack” if you consider that our economy is decimated and theirs is booming. After that, the shame falls on Trade Unions and mass media for pushing the ridiculous lockdowns.

Thirtytimesround · 12/01/2022 13:44

What a weasle. Such a weak leader he can’t even apologise properly. Basically he said that he thinks it was a “work event” but if “others don’t see it that way” then he apologises to them. What does that even mean? He’s essentially saying that he is sorry people are too stupid to understand him. So arrogant. And such a liar. No one else was having office parties in May 2020. There was no such thing as a legal “work event” there was just socially distanced work for people unable to work at home, and then you go home and stay home.

If the Conservative party have any interest in being re-elected then they need to distance themselves from Boris Johnson. What is even the point of him? He isn’t popular with the electorate, he had no leadership or managerial skills, and he has no integrity.

Is this really the best leader the Conservative party has to offer us??

Grantanow · 12/01/2022 13:46

Of course he should resign but he won't. The reality is that the Tories don't have a vote winning replacement and they worry about their jobs come the next Election. So he's pretty safe unless the investigation comes up with some damning evidence which I doubt.

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 12/01/2022 13:48

I'd say he has many traits of a psychopath:

Disregard for rules, laws, and morals.
Superficial charm and charisma.
Pathological lying.
Has a small range of emotions.
Lacks empathy and is callous.
They are impulsive.
They bully and abuse even those they’re close to.
They act like a victim when immoral actions are caught.
They directly blame others for their misfortunes.
Narcissism and superiority complexes are common.
Manipulation comes naturally.
Multiple sexual partners and short-term relationships.
They seek revenge.

noblegiraffe · 12/01/2022 13:50

The PM who famously shook hands with everyone and ended up in intensive care?

Do not mistake them not following the rules for the rules not being needed.

They just thought everyone else should be the ones to follow them.
