Hello everyone,

Wanted some opinions if possible…. for our wedding in 6 weeke we can provide our own alcohol and cant decide on a prosecco… what are your recommendations? Ideally we’d want to keep costs down but equally dont want to serve something super cheap that doesn’t taste nice.

Have tried a few from Aldi/ Tesco/ Sainsburys / Asda but struggling to find a good value one si any recommendations welcome.

I bloody love a pignoletto or a Blanquette de Limiux, both tesco finest 🥂

Sorry, Limoux

I like Dino from Tesco. Or La gioiosa from Waitrose.

Blanquette de limoux is one of my favourites.

Cremant is so much nicer than Prosecco. Think it’s all the sugar in Prosecco that makes it so sweet.

MaryChristmouse · 09/01/2022 22:16

Aldi cremant du Jura or cremant de Limoux beat any Prosecco I've had (and I've had a lot!) I really don't like prosecco, it's too sweet and usually tasteless for me.

Graham Beck from Majestic. Its method trad, which us basically champagne method. GB is South African. Also ask about their cremant and cava while you're in there. Honestly, you can do better than prosecco for your wedding without killing your budget.

Aldi organic or the co-op

@heidbuttsupper

I love the Tesco prosecco with the chequered label
Another vote for this one!

I'm drinking the Waitrose one now, ice cold. It's the only one I'll drink.
It comes in half and little bottles too.
Lovely, light and very fizzy.

Another vote for Aldi having the best Prosecco.

womaninatightspot · 10/01/2022 00:31

Aldi standard one, I like it dry though.

I think all prosecco tastes the same.

I now prefer cremant. Lidl’s is nice £8.49

Also agree with the Cremant suggestion, we had the M&S blush at Christmas and bought it again for New Year as it was so nice. I’ve had their white version as well and it was also lovely. Prosecco has gone very sweet now it’s so cheap.

*Chapel down English sparkling.....it is utterly delicious

I agree, but even when it is on offer it is over £10 in my experience?*

It's usually about £23, but it's so much nicer than a lot of champagnes in my opinion!

For a large event though it's not very practical at that price. We had Freixenet at our wedding and popped over to France to get it so we did make a saving that way.
