Best prosecco?

Hello everyone,

Wanted some opinions if possible…. for our wedding in 6 weeke we can provide our own alcohol and cant decide on a prosecco… what are your recommendations? Ideally we’d want to keep costs down but equally dont want to serve something super cheap that doesn’t taste nice.

Have tried a few from Aldi/ Tesco/ Sainsburys / Asda but struggling to find a good value one si any recommendations welcome.

The I heart Prosecco is lovely

derekthe1adyhamster · 09/01/2022 17:35

Cava or cremant.
Aldi champagne is only £14/bottle though

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/01/2022 17:38

I’d buy from Majestic, they store their wine properly.

M&S wines taste like they’ve been stored in a centrally heated warehouse near the equator and are out of condition.

@Sunsetsupernova

I have a friend who is very into wine and quite snobby about it. The only Prosecco he drinks is the Sainsbury’s taste the difference one.
It's divine. I'm having it tomorrow as my birthday drink 🥳
Ringergodgers · 09/01/2022 17:42

Chapel down English sparkling.....it is utterly delicious

theremustonlybeone · 09/01/2022 17:44

I love Coneghano Prosecco Superiore sold by Sainsburys, I do like champagne but this is lovely and they usually do a little sale.

SquigglePigs · 09/01/2022 17:46

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference is fantastic for a supermarket bubbles. The cremant is even better if you can stretch to it.

@Fluffster99

Thanks all. lots of good advice and lots to put on the list to try.

We wouldnt go above £10per bottle but if nicer ones are less than that all the better.

Thanks

For £10 a bottle you will get a much better Cava or Cremant than Prosecco.
HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 09/01/2022 19:23

Nosecco for the non drinkers too maybe

Delatron · 09/01/2022 19:27

Yes to Cremant or a decent Cava. Much nicer than Prosecco.

londonmummy1966 · 09/01/2022 19:48

la gioiosa prosecco is nice - I prefer the rose to the white. They also do a dealcholised one although I've never tried it but ot might be nice to serve to drivers and non-drinkers.

Although I'd rather have Nyetimber.

Stiffcondomhat · 09/01/2022 19:51

Another vote for aldi organic.
Martini prosecco is one of my favourites but has been hard to find for the past couple of years.

JerkintheMerkin · 09/01/2022 20:02

Aldi's organic one is lovely. Their new Rose one not so much.

TopTabby · 09/01/2022 20:09

M&S prosecco is really nice & often on offer.

52andblue · 09/01/2022 20:15

Yet another vote for Aldi's Organic.
Dry & delicious. No hangover as not full of chemicals like most cheaper booze. I think its around £8 per bottle - tastes like £18 imo :)

nuggetschicken · 09/01/2022 20:15

Another vote for cava or the Sainsbury's pink prosecco.

Gerwurtztraminer · 09/01/2022 20:19

Definitely a vote for the Aldi Organic. It's my 'go to' fizz and I've had many friends (who don't shop at Aldi and don't know where it's from), comment on how nice it is.

I'm not a fan of Cava and have never found one I like.

Gladioli23 · 09/01/2022 20:20

Waitrose sell one called Maschio which is absolutely delicious.

It's reduced to £6.99 a bottle currently:

Ditto! We love this and buy lots when it's in offer.

user1471554720 · 09/01/2022 20:25

Lidl Treviso is very nice, not too sweet. I get it every NYE

Ringergodgers · 09/01/2022 20:26

@AlwaysLatte I wait till the offers too!

Clementine8 · 09/01/2022 20:32

Watching with interest as i also have a party coming up and have not found a prosecco i like yet. I’m going to have to do a taste test with all the ones suggested!
Any particular cavas i should add to the list?

Crunched · 09/01/2022 20:36

@Ringergodgers

Chapel down English sparkling.....it is utterly delicious
I agree, but even when it is on offer it is over £10 in my experience?
bellsbuss · 09/01/2022 20:38

Sainsbury's Taste the difference , their magnums are on offer for £16 at the moment

ChocolateRiver · 09/01/2022 20:40

I’d definitely go with cava. It’s made in the same way as champagne and IMO is much nicer. The Lidl and Morrison’s one’s are both pretty good. Lidl is the cheaper of the two.
