Why are you up?

Love these threads when I'm up in the night. Makes me feels less alone!

I'm up because of restless legs and my enormous roast dinner I had today is playing havoc with my stomach now. I've ordered some magnesium spray for the restless legs and took some Gaviscon for the stomach. Watching Gavin and Stacey with the dog until I feel better

Waiting to be summoned into town to collect my teens and probably a car-full of their mates...

MonicaGellerBing · 27/12/2021 02:59

@DirectionToPerfection nothing like your own bed. I feel for those who have to go away at Christmas, I'd hate it. Are you headed home soon?

I don't know why I'm awake - but I'm enjoying the rare freedom of knowing I don't have to wake early tomorrow and the solitude.

Sorry to hear of people's worries gnawing the sleep out of them. 🙁 and 💐 for you.

amiafreakofnature · 27/12/2021 03:01

Oh my god my restless legs have been horrendous today I have had no relief at all been bad a week or so now. Actually up as my daughter has woke me with an upset stomach poor thing

frenchiemummy92 · 27/12/2021 03:01

@MonicaGellerBing yeah they do here too and I suspect even longer now with so many people testing now. Last one I did months ago postal I didn't even get results for. Where told they were lost. Going to see if a family member can drop some of the new tests off as well.

mnetting · 27/12/2021 03:02

I'm awake because I start my diet tomorrow so I have to eat up all the Xmas food by morning.
And I finished the champagne!

wejammin · 27/12/2021 03:02

Not gone to sleep yet as feel very nauseous and stomach is gurgling away. Can also hear DHs stomach which sounds very active, although he is currently snoring. Now I'm anxious we've got a stomach bug and the kids will be ill - we go on holiday on Tuesday and would absolutely hate to cancel, my mum's paid for us all.

I'm hoping tomorrow evening, as we're doing lunch tomorrow for the birthday. Hoping for a decent sleep tomorrow night!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 27/12/2021 03:03

@MonicaGellerBing

Sympathies *@PissedOffNeighbour22* I remember all those ailments when I was pregnant it's a nightmare! Definitely check out magnesium spray! It's a miracle worker apparently 🤞
Definitely will be trying the magnesium spray. I suffer from restless legs anyway, it's just worse in pregnancy. The only thing I've found that vaguely helps is getting my DP to karate chop my thighs really fast and quite hard. He HATES doing it.
MonicaGellerBing · 27/12/2021 03:06

@PissedOffNeighbour22 ooh karate chopping you say.... something for me to try! It drives me insane I'm so sick of it, praying the spray helps.

@amiafreakofnature Google magnesium spray! Meant to be amazing for restless legs

@wejammin hope you're all ok, could it just be overeating due to Christmas?

@DirectionToPerfection not long then!

💐 for everyone struggling with relationships and other things keeping them awake. I think Christmas makes everyone reflect a bit more, I certainly have been these past few days.

I’m awake because of cramp in my calf muscle. I was fast asleep when it happened, I had to leap out of bed and run around like a mad woman. I can’t sleep now. 🙄

BourbonScreams · 27/12/2021 03:07

@PissedOffNeighbour22 Maybe I'll have to try that method as a backup Grin

Impatientwino · 27/12/2021 03:07

4 yo woke me up as was a bit unsettled but he's now snoring peacefully and I'm wide awake.

Went to my DBro for Boxing Day and indulged far too much in fizz and food so have horrible reflux which isn't helping! Very much looking forward to dry January right now!

I've had terrible sleep in the last week and I think it's hormonal as I'm of that sort of age and at that point in my cycle. I'm going to start tracking my insomnia as I think it's linked. I always sleep terribly if I've been drinking but never when not so it's not just that.

At least we have a quiet day at home planned so the DC can just chill and play with their new toys so not too much required from me and I can probably grab a nap at some point!

BlackeyedSusan · 27/12/2021 03:08

cricket. given in now though.

MonicaGellerBing · 27/12/2021 03:08

@Impatientwino I'm up with reflux too, luckily I had some Gaviscon in but it hasn't worked yet.. I have an awful bloated grumbly tummy too, far too much Christmas dinner today 😭

Woke up with indigestion and bellyache from the crap I've been eating... urrrgh

SmellyOldPartridgeinaPearTree · 27/12/2021 03:09

I fell asleep when putting the kids to bed at 9pm just with sheer exhaustion. Woke up an hour ago and went downstairs to turn off the Christmas tree lights etc then baby woke up hungry. She's fed and back to sleep and I'm just enjoying a bit of guilt free mumsnet time while everyone is asleep. I was so tired, and am still, it feels amazing just being here in bed resting.

MonicaGellerBing · 27/12/2021 03:09

@MissMaple82 welcome to the club haha! There's a few of us tonight

I had terrible restless legs each time I was pregnant. It's so horrible and Thanks for anyone suffering with that.

My 9 yo has recently started suffering with growing pains in his legs and restless legs at night so I've ordered him a mag spray to see if that helps.

KhalliWhalli · 27/12/2021 03:10

This is the third week of jet lag for me. I can’t sleep beyond 2 am. It’s horrendous.

MonicaGellerBing · 27/12/2021 03:10

@SmellyOldPartridgeinaPearTree sounds relaxing, enjoy!

OP posts:
MonicaGellerBing · 27/12/2021 03:11

@Impatientwino oooh my DS9 gets growing pains too, I'll use the spray on him then too see if that helps. Never thought of that!

I'm in Melbourne; just about to head to the posh deli to buy picnic foods, then meet friends in the park.

Impatientwino · 27/12/2021 03:13

It did seem to help me when I used it but we'll see! He's really suffering at the moment bless him. He's 5 foot tall and growing like a weed at the moment!
