When I got back to the car after parkrun, I had a completely flat tyre. Feeling accomplished to have sorted it myself though Smile

When I got home I had to take the plunger to the toilet.

What's next?

Currently sitting in A&E with Dmum who had a fall this morning. Waiting for MRI, she's hallucinating, in some pain, desperate for a cup of tea (as am I). Merry Christmas, everyone Hmm

Dont want to tempt fate but it's going really well so far.
Up at 9 with Dh telling me to open the stocking santa had brought me.
17yo and 20yo dds turfed out of bed at 10 for breakfast and gifts. They loved everything (hadnt asked for anything specific) and didnt disappear to their rooms instantly. A very pleasant morning.
Went all together (unheard of) to the cemetery to put christmas flowers on dads grave. Nice walk.
Now awaiting my sister for coffee and cake and gifts.
Then off to mums for christmas tea at 6. As long as happy dogs behave around phobic dh it should go ok.

Hope to be home to read my new book and chill by about 9pm.

Food is ready, table is set, I'm 2 glasses of Disaronno in and those combined with my medication have me feeling rather merry

Really lovely and relaxed. We woke up around 11am and opened our presents, which thankfully dd and dh loved. I absolutely love all my presents dh has done himself proud, I cried opening them with happiness. Just had more coffee and bacon rolls. I am watching white Christmas whilst dd and dh are building stuff up. Thinking is it too early to open the bubbles?

Pushed starters back to half 4 and dinner to 8pm. I've not even been in the kitchen yet and we are all still in our Pjs.

Merry Christmas everyone 💖

We have Covid in the house so Plan A went out of the window earlier in the week.

DH is feeling unwell, which means he is being a grumpy twat, so have sent him off to bed. I am convinced he has caught DC’s Covid.

The oven conked shortly after so am now attempting to cook our very small joint in the top oven.

DC2 is being high maintenance (toddler) as he’s unsettled and doesn’t understand about Christmas, plus has been housebound for a week.

I don’t normally drink until after the DCs are in bed but I am making an exception today.Hmm

On the plus side, DC1 is having a ball!

Really lovely and relaxing. A very lazy morning drinking coffee while we did presents. I got a gorgeous, framed print from DH which I was hoping he'd get me.

Then we went out for Christmas lunch with my lovely cousin and her family at an olde worlde coaching inn. The food is always good there but today it was superb - absolutely the best Beef Wellington I've ever had.

Got home and changed into pyjamas and just chilled out. DDs went to visit their boyfriends and drop off gifts, so DH and I watched 'Don't Look Up' which was bonkers but hilarious. Off for an early night now as have a big family day tomorrow.

It was good! Except my 18 year old visiting son woke up at 6am waking me up too (he's in the room next to mine and I heard him chatting to the pets). We held out til 10 for presents and breakfast then he went up for a nap and I got the lunch on. My daughter helped and it was pretty unpressurised until last minute trying to get the veg out at the same time but all well and we were stuffed. So took a break, son took dogs out, came together for a film. Now mountain of dishes! They both seemed happy with presents except my daughters special phone case doesn't fit her phone (grrr, I was so pleased I found it). Tomorrow the board games and crackers we didn't get to today!

DS girlfriends brother tested positive for covid so she couldn’t come round this evening, he was very upset. We had a lovely dinner, played charades and watched a film. I then realised I had a voicemail from my sister yesterday, telling me an old school friend of mine died a couple of weeks ago. She did always send a Christmas card we had drifted apart but we had been very close friends all through High school, I had a little cry and remembered the good times with her all those decades ago.
