Why are you awake?

Here for solidarity.

Poorly DD who is 14 months and coughing a lot and wheezing a little - can't sleep properly and I'm keeping a regular eye on her. And bloody DH snoring again. Once I'm awake and I hear him, that's it. He has partially untreated sleep apnoea. Had had an op before we met in his 20s but refuses to investigate further and we don't have a spare room that either of us can hide in when needed unfortunately.

Both DDs have been tag teaming illness for months and my average sleep has been 4 hours a night since September. I'm really struggling. Together with coronavirus anxiety, it's sent me quite mental. I keep shouting or crying and I know it's mostly lack of sleep.

Kidney *stones

RobertSmithsLipstick · 23/12/2021 05:38

Oh crap!
Not the best lead up to Christmas for you.
Will you be let out before the big day, or do you feel too rotten to care?

catinboots123 · 23/12/2021 05:40

@slapmyarseandcallmemary

28 weeks pregnant, needed bathroom. My 4 year old has been poorly and woke up so my wife has taken him downstairs as he won't settle and didn't want to wake our 2 year old. I also have a really painful sore throat, finding it difficult to swallow, which is preventing me getting back to sleep 😩
@slapmyarseandcallmemary have you done a Covid test? My first sign was a really sore throat Sad

I've been awake for hours with a blocked nose which is making me breathe through my mouth and get a sore throat 🤒

RobertSmithsLipstick · 23/12/2021 05:43

Have you done a test, too?

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 23/12/2021 05:45

I seen the consultant last night and he said if my numbers come down il be let out as a outpatient with the home care team however he advised I’m pretty sick for an upbeat person Grin

Personally I don’t feel too awful, I’m not well but don't feel as sick as what they are telling me, even when I was spewing all over I was cleaning it up and the nurse told me off Star

I went to urgent care yesterday thinking they’d just give me some antibiotics Xmas Blush and be sent my Merry way...

RobertSmithsLipstick · 23/12/2021 05:53

Well, that's your Christmas surprise then. Smile
Have you got people at home waiting to look after you? .I reckon you'll be discharged because of the covid situation.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 23/12/2021 06:00

I’m supposed to be hosting 30 people and likely still will be however il not be the one “hosting” them, il be getting waited on hand and foot as will be connected to a IV more than likely.

Has your heartburn eased, hopefully your pain meds are also kicking in for your headache RobertSmithsLipstick

TroysMammy · 23/12/2021 06:04

It's the normal time I get up for work but having to take a pcr test yesterday because I've got a very slight sore throat I'm not going to work until I get my result. I'm wide awake cursing the omicron variant.

RobertSmithsLipstick · 23/12/2021 06:05

Well, I hope it all goes right for you.
Getting waited on sounds great!

Yeah my aches and pains feel a bit better, thanks.
In fact, feeling a bit sleepy now it's too late to nap.

WhatIsThisPlease · 23/12/2021 06:23

UTI :(

YukoandHiro · 23/12/2021 06:32

I'm up for the day now, trying to decide if Dd needs a doctor before we travel for our Xmas plans or is ok really and just a bad cold. Since covid my parenting instincts have gone to shit. I'll see how she is once we get up for breakfast.

Hope some of you managed to get a bit of sleep tonight

I wish I'd looked on here earlier when I was awake multiple times during the night.
Many reasons for mine:

  1. lots of friends and colleagues have come down with covid over recent days and I feel like a ticking time bomb.
  2. I heard a strange noise at 10.45 and looked out to find someone sitting in my car rifling through the glove box and
  3. bloody territorial foxes screeching all night!
FlamingGoat · 23/12/2021 06:49

I've been awake since 3.30.
I'm waiting on a PCR test result . I'm the only one who didn't go on the work Christmas party night on Saturday to be careful and then had two positive LFTs yesterday. FML!
Also we are waiting on an urgent referral for my husband who is likely to have cancer.

Silkieschickens · 23/12/2021 07:17

Had some sleep now. sue so sorry to see about your DH and hope it's something minor which they can treat. Glad they have taken him to his operation hospital.

So sorry to hear that Haud

Hope your DH gets all clear or at least good prognosis Flaming.

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 23/12/2021 07:30

@catinboots123 hi, yes, I get PCR tested at work and lft tested too. I think it's tonsillitis tbh, it seems to recur every couple of weeks.
