It’s really cute. I love the name, haven’t heard it on a real person I don’t think just on baby boards and films.

There was an actress called Romy Schneider who was popular in the 1950s -70s. Her full name was Rosemarie. I think it's a lovely name.

the80sweregreat · 16/12/2021 15:35

It is a nice name.
I hope that their dad has more time for them both than he has had for some of his other children.
His eldest daughter did a photo shoot for vogue a while ago and she is the image of her dad , there are some strong genes around with the blond hair !

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 16/12/2021 15:35

Never mind the name, she’s got a full head of very dark hair! I always thought his whole tribe was blonde, regardless of the mothers.

hijinx8 · 16/12/2021 15:38

@JosephineDeBeauharnais that'll prob fall out and then it'll grow back blonde

Roselilly36 · 16/12/2021 15:39

I like it, the baby looks adorable too, regardless of what you think of the parents.

CounsellorTroi · 16/12/2021 15:41

It made me think of Romy Schneider, a glamorous French-German actress of the 60s-70s.

Romy the Rona baby Grin

MimiDaisy11 · 16/12/2021 15:46

I’ve met a few Romys before, all Americans.

I do love the film Romy and Michelle’s high school reunion

User5329806 · 16/12/2021 15:47

It's a nice name and I like the photo they released also.

DeclareThePenniesOnYourEyes · 16/12/2021 15:52

Presumably in homage to Romy White, inventor of the Post-It.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/12/2021 15:59

@gogohm

That's surprising, would have expected old fashioned English name
I don't know why. His children's names are a very mixed bag.

Four with Marina Wheeler: Lara Lettice, Milo Arthur, Cassia Peaches, and Theodore Apollo.

One with another woman (he probably had little input on this one, in the circumstances): Stephanie, middle names unknown

A N Other, name and mother not in the public domain

Two with Carrie: Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas, Romy Irish Charlotte

hijinx8 · 16/12/2021 16:04

Interesting I didn't know the names of the others just Wilfred. Quite like some of the others like Lara and Theodore.

FairIsleSnugs · 16/12/2021 16:04

Love the name.

Deffo not a Boris fan though!

ufucoffee · 16/12/2021 16:05

@Samcro

do people really care.
Some people do. That's why someone's made a post about it
Poetrypatty · 16/12/2021 16:06

Nice name but I feel sorry for anyone else who has called their baby this now.

hijinx8 · 16/12/2021 16:07

@Poetrypatty why it's not like calling your baby Boris? What about people with kids called Lara and Theo?

AnotherOneWithNoGoodName · 16/12/2021 16:09

@Samcro

do people really care.
And yet you took time to open the thread (clearly named, so fully aware of content) and to respond.
Poetrypatty · 16/12/2021 16:23

@Poetrypatty why Well because they've chosen a lovely and quite rare name and if it was me I wouldn't want the PM's baby to be called the same name. But it will soon be forgotten that it's one of his (many) children's names so it's no big deal I guess.

FairIsleSnugs · 16/12/2021 16:28

@Poetrypatty haha!! are you serious? It’s just a name!

daisypond · 16/12/2021 16:33

@gogohm

That's surprising, would have expected old fashioned English name
It is an old-fashioned English name. It’s the traditional short form for Rosemary.
x2boys · 16/12/2021 16:36

@Poetrypatty

Nice name but I feel sorry for anyone else who has called their baby this now.
Why ???
Nahhh · 16/12/2021 16:38

I know two little Romys - judging by Facebook neither set of parents is happy that Boris’ has similar baby name tastes!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 16/12/2021 16:41

Lovely name

hijinx8 · 16/12/2021 16:44

@Poetrypatty I think you're over thinking it a bit. I can't remember the names of any other politicians kids. It's a name no one owns it.

Warmduscher · 16/12/2021 16:48

@LotusCheesecake

If you can bear watching him in the clip linked to you will hear him pronounce it. It's Rome-y
It’s pronounced like Rommy.

Why would you expect Johnson to get this one thing right?
