Do YOU remember this perfume (ca. 2005)?!

Something about not being able to travel much over the past couple of years has made me seek escapism through... perfume! I've gone mad for it. I've got together quite a little collection now and am missing one I used to have, but I can't remember the name of it.

The facts:
I bought it in about 2004/5.
It wasn't expensive, just an impulse buy somewhere like Superdrug.
It had a red glass bottle, like a lopsided/squashed cube (?).
I'm no olfactory expert, but something deep in the mix reminded me of chocolate.

??????????

I have trawled the internet, including Fragrantica, looking for clues, but so far drew a blank and I wondered if anyone here could help!

Could it have been one of the Celene Dion perfumes?

???
Sorry to go off topic but I have this and it's really really nice.

Tresor?

@LagneyandCasey

If you do a search on eBay for used perfume bottles there are a lot of collections.

Could it have been from Avon?

Oh, believe me, I have scoured Amazon and eBay and trawled through screen after screen of Google image searches for red perfume bottles and done every search I can think of on Fragrantica, including going through their entire list of brands!

I didn't dream this perfume, though. I was very fond of it at the time!

@Ourlady
Gingham by Innoxa sounds rather nice! I used to gaze at the Innoxa counter thinking it all looked so clean and nice. It was a bit out of my price range though, I was very much a Nivea/Astral girl 😋

One of these two Diesel ones? Particularly the one on the right (zero plus) was what we all used at school in that era and was sort of chocolatey/coconut? The other one is Diesel Loverdose and your description of the bottle just made me think of it. I used to buy both in Home Bargains 😂

Sorry, no no no no no to all the suggestions so far... thank you for posting them!

If anyone ever gets this, they deserve a medal. And there might be a collective sharp intake of breath that I wasted so much time on a bit of tat. I loved it though back then and thought myself very sophisticated! A little spritz on the wrist, instant elegance!

I was in my mid-40s at the time 😁 I just hadn't progressed in life to being able to afford much!

Also I think we can safely downplay the "chocolate" aspect. It wasn't a sweet-smelling scent, there was just a warm note that reminded me of chocolate but is probably something else entirely. I get sucked into reading the threads on Fragrantica, but don't actually understand half of them. For example, Fragrantica describes YSL Libre (which I have) as "an Amber Fougere fragrance" and I would never in a million years think to call it that, having no clue what the terms mean 😋

When I saw you mentioned me I was SURE you were going to say is got it. As soon as I read your OP I thought of the zero plus. I wanted to buy some last year and couldn’t find it anywhere, so it’s obviously unfashionable now. Managed to get it on eBay and it was an instant transport back in time. Hope you find it in the end!

Joop Wow! perhaps?

*I’d

barbrahunter · 06/12/2021 12:42

@Ourlady

I can't help but while having a look for you I came across Gingham by innoxa. Anyone remember that one? I know I liked it but can't remember the smell or anything else about it. Also Geminesse, the little rollerball handbag size which was a must for any young lady of my time.
I remember Gingham by Innoxa! Didn't it come in a box made of tiny little squares? I used to think it was gorgeous! I wonder if they still make it?

Sorry OP, I don't think I have any new suggestions.

user1469544430 · 06/12/2021 12:42

Ah scratch that, it was from 2018...

It wasn't So...? was it? I had it as a teenager and it used to be in a little red bottle. They've changed it now, Google tells me.

Alcemeg · 06/12/2021 12:53

@SprinkleOfInsanity

This?
No, but the bottle was that colour. That kind of red.

Sorry everyone, you'll throttle me if we ever find out what it was. I feel like I've got a search party combing the woods for a piece of bubble-gum with pocket fluff that I must have dropped years ago...
