Do YOU remember this perfume (ca. 2005)?!

Something about not being able to travel much over the past couple of years has made me seek escapism through... perfume! I've gone mad for it. I've got together quite a little collection now and am missing one I used to have, but I can't remember the name of it.

The facts:
I bought it in about 2004/5.
It wasn't expensive, just an impulse buy somewhere like Superdrug.
It had a red glass bottle, like a lopsided/squashed cube (?).
I'm no olfactory expert, but something deep in the mix reminded me of chocolate.

??????????

I have trawled the internet, including Fragrantica, looking for clues, but so far drew a blank and I wondered if anyone here could help!

Cacharel Amor Amor? Boots and Superdrug sell it, goes back to 2003 according to Fragrantica.

Didn't post image for some reason, although it showed in the preview. Search Trouble Boucheron if you can't see the image OP.

Gucci rush? I wore that in 2005 and often in Superdrug with special offers. Very popular with my late teens early 20s age bracket!

Ooh heck, I am so sorry, I feel I'm sending everyone off on a wild goose chase.

Seriously, the brands mentioned upthread are more posh than this perfume was.

But it was a wonky square/rectangular bottle with a sort of leg to make it stand up, and was dark red (possibly black on the other side?)
No... just a red bottle with four corners; not sharp corners, I don't think, just enough to give it a chunky shape. All the glass was (clear?) red.

Sorry!!!!!

If we ever get it, you will shoot me as it was probably a pile of crap. I just really liked it!

@Alcemag I haven't read the full thread yet, but was it Tribe by Coty?

Forget the clothes designer labels etc. It really wasn't in that league, I don't think!

I'm beginning to suspect it was cheap, is probably discontinued, and the only way I'll ever find out is if someone has a bottle of it in a drawer somewhere...

No! But something like Coty is the sort of brand I think we need to be edging towards 😉

(I hope I'm not doing a disservice to the brand, if we ever find out what it was!)

More expensive but maybe you were feeling flush?

P.S. I am reading all the posts, not responding to all of them, so if it's been mentioned and I haven't replied, that's because sadly we haven't hit the jackpot yet! Sorry!

Was it Gucci Rush?

Alcemeg · 06/12/2021 11:47

@Kjr33

More expensive but maybe you were feeling flush?
I don't think I ever felt flush back then. I had got into a pattern of letting myself be leeched by one parasitic BF after another. It would have been a rare luxury treat to splash out on a perfume at the chemist's, but I think we can safely forget Chanel, Gucci, Versace, Dior, Morgan, Missoni, Hugo Boss, Cacharel, etc. Out of my league back then, I think.

Think cheapskate.

I'm racking my brains too now and I don't think I've ever even had a perfume from Superdrug 😂

Kjr33 · 06/12/2021 11:50

@Alcemeg fair enough the only other ones I can think of are Hugo boss and ck obsession but maybe it was some sort of own brand perfume?

ElftonWednesday · 06/12/2021 12:00

I used to love Maroussia and Chloe Narcisse.

Alcemeg · 06/12/2021 12:00

hand on heart, it might not even have been Superdrug!

But it wasn't the shop's own brand. It was something I think you'd be able to buy anywhere, like Revlon or Elizabeth Arden etc...

Calvin Klein Deep Euphoria?

If you do a search on eBay for used perfume bottles there are a lot of collections.

Could it have been from Avon?

Ourlady · 06/12/2021 12:02

I can't help but while having a look for you I came across Gingham by innoxa. Anyone remember that one? I know I liked it but can't remember the smell or anything else about it. Also Geminesse, the little rollerball handbag size which was a must for any young lady of my time.

ElftonWednesday · 06/12/2021 12:03

Angel smells like chocolate IIRC, though it doesn't meet the description otherwise.

Is it one of the Charlie fragrances?
