Tarantulas are actually very fragile. If you drop them their abdomens can explode

I've also reported this and asked for it to be moved to classics at some point as it's such a lovely thread and also I think good for dispelling some myths and fears around spiders - if anyone wants to join me in requesting it going to classics?

I agree - they are the most amazing and industrious creatures. I have a back garden with a lot of trees with TPOs, and as such a part of my garden is like a woodland. There are loads of spiders down there and their webs and the way they build them are incredible. They're also very pretty. I just wish I wasnt so scared of them! I mainly just leave them be at the bottom of the garden!
