Albie is short for Brachypelma albopilosum which is my Latin name. I come from Honduras and my regular name is Honduran Curly Haired Tarantula.

@WhateverIdo

Why do you need 8 legs you ugly little **?
All the better to creep and crawl all over your face while you are sleeping Grin
BusySittingDown · 19/11/2021 14:09

What do you think of Spider-Man? Can you do all of the things he can? Can he actually do whatever a spider can?

I need eight legs so I can climb up your leg Grin

I can run if I want to, but not as fast as a mouse.

@charabanctrip

Spiders don't have willies. The boy spiders get us pregnant by rubbing our tummys with their hands Grin

If we're hungry we eat them afterwards.

My kind of girl.

Just to let you know I think you are incredibly beautiful

charabanctrip · 19/11/2021 14:10

I don't like tasting my mum's hands because she tastes like washing up liquid which is yucky.

I don't like Spider Man, he's a fraud 😜

I don't need a pet sitter because I can go for a long time without eating. I have a heat mat which keeps me warm and I don't need a light. I like fresh water though.

How would you catch crickets in the wild? Webs?

charabanctrip · 19/11/2021 14:16

In the wild I hang out in a burrow and lay a patch of web so that I can detect anything going past. I then dash out and grab it. I eat a variety of insects and reptiles.

Aww Albie how beautiful!

Are you the only tarantula in residence?

ShaneTheThird · 19/11/2021 14:17

Not in the same tank obviously!

LadyCampanulaTottington · 19/11/2021 14:17

Are you allowed to free range?

charabanctrip · 19/11/2021 14:20

I have a neighbour who is a Mexican Red Knee Tarantula. We don't hang out together because we argue and would fight.

I'm only allowed out during cleaning out as I'm quite fragile and might get injured. I have been in the garden during the summer.

Hi albi

Do you ever get lonely cos people just run away all the time?

Soubriquet · 19/11/2021 14:27

Very pretty spider

Are you a chile rose?

(I’ve recently joined the spider club with an L4 p.regius jumping spider)

charabanctrip · 19/11/2021 14:29

I could catch small lizards etc if I lived in the wild, but I just eat crickets and beetle larvae in captivity.

@Sobriquet I'm a Honduran Curly Hair

? Jumping Spider, wow, sounds athletic.

I don't get lonely because I like to be solitary. Friends are over rated in my opinion. They make tasty meals though.

How old are you and how long do you expect to live?

FlibbertyGibbitt · 19/11/2021 14:35

If you were pink and fluffy do you think people would like you and your mates more ?

HadEnough798 · 19/11/2021 14:36

I have an agreement in my house your spider cousins can stay where I can see them (up high, out of the way) but sometimes they fall down and take me by surprising by running at me...

How quickly do you move?

Do you think that's good spider etiquette to surprise people? Can you understand when humans panic at a surprise spider?

theelephantinthegroup · 19/11/2021 14:37

Hi Albie.

I'm a bit afraid of my eight legged housemates, but would never intentionally hurt one, and I am trying to get over it as I know they won't do me any harm. What do you think of the house spiders we have here? And would you eat one?
