Who do you hate yourself for fancying?

I am listening to the various covers of Time after Time (after watching hearing it on an advert), and found a Ronan Keating version.

I remember being so disappointed in him having an affair with a backing dancer back in the day, and though so much less of him because of it.

Listening to his version of Time after Time just fluttered something in my stomach awakening an old crush I had in my teenage years. He was beautiful and I loved his voice (but he did a fucking selfish thing which pissed me off massively at the time).

I lust for Don Draper.

God, don't we all?

Sauron.

The Silmarillion version where he was really hot. Even after, gotta love a bad boy.

User135644 · 17/11/2021 10:21

Another one who briefly rode the Hancock wave.

Who didn't? That was pretty universal.

grapewine · 17/11/2021 10:27

@RockingMyFiftiesNot

Simon Cowell Blush
Same. He does seems much nicer after having a child.

@MenoMom

Bill Bailey is not a weird crush - he's so warm and witty!

I had a very sad crush on the Red Wiggle back in the day, but grew out of it - I thought he'd be a bit contolling and moved my affections onto Captain Feathersword, the bad boy crony of the Wiggles. Saw them in concert twice, for my daughter of course.

Oh, this is giving me flashbacks to DS's toddler days when I thought a lot more about the Wiggles than I probably should have and knew all the lyrics and actions to 'Rockabye Your Bear'. Are we talking first or second generation Red Wiggle, though? Grin

I think one of the Captain Featherswords was married to Wags the Dog, which sounds all kinds of wrong...

donquixotedelamancha · 17/11/2021 10:35

This is a joke. Obviously. Right? shock I've heard of some fetishes in my time but...wow.

Oh come on. Mine isn't as bad as Piers Morgan.

That makes my thing for the freakily camp elf Haldir of the film versions seem like a very mild perversion...

All the Matt Hancock-lovers, explain yourselves. There are too many of you for it to be just individual instances of madness. What is is that does it for you? (For me he is absolutely in the category of 'Your sister's first boyfriend with a car', as Charlie Brooker said.)

I get that. The scene where he first puts his finger in the ring is very dogeared in my copy.

What’s wrong with Greg Davies?

Jude Law. Bit of a player. And every wife is younger than the previous one by 20 years.
But then I rewatch The Talented Mr Ripley and....

donquixotedelamancha · 17/11/2021 10:58

I love that you'll admit to Adolf Hitler IRL but not James Blunt.

DP would leave if I did. Reaching climax to Hitler screaming "die kraft, lebensraum zu sichern" through the Google dot is OK but 'you're beautiful' would be past the line.

OhGiveUp · 17/11/2021 10:59

Jürgen Klopp ( though I should hate him for ditching my team for a rival )
Gareth Southgate.

Preferably together as a sandwich with me as the filling.

I need to lay down now, I've come over all unnecessary 😳

ReginaaPhalange · 17/11/2021 11:02

Current day keifer Sutherland! Offft! Him acting as president in designated survivor 🤤🤤🤤

Obviously it feels more acceptable when he played jack bower in 24 cause he was obviously a whole new level of hotter then! Offt!!!

ReginaaPhalange · 17/11/2021 11:03

Also The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye 🥵🥵🥵 his songs are mostly about drugs and sex but oh man, sing to me allll night long baby!!

ReginaaPhalange · 17/11/2021 11:03

Ok and ok I promise last one from me!!! (Blame the pregnancy hormones), but lately Daniel Ricciardo! It's the smile people!!!!

Gary Lineker. Hair, lips, eyes... yum!

MrsJackGrealish · 17/11/2021 11:17

@Garriet

Oh I’m another Aramis crusher. Used to fancy Craig Charles in Red Dwarf too, absolutely cringe at that now. Worse, though, was that I had a bit of a thing for Boris Johnson back in his HIGNFY days. Also Paul Nicholls. Not the ex-Eastenders actor. The racehorse trainer. Until someone pointed out he looked like my old boss. Nowadays I’m quite fond of David Mitchell and an awful lot of fictional characters including Garrus from Mass Effect (see attached)
I fucking love Garrus. Turians as a whole too. Dont know why.

But, mine is Jack Grealish.

He's a scuzzy little fucking who uses woman as his own personal dick warmer, but I still wouldnt say no.

MiniPumpkin · 17/11/2021 11:24

James Arthur.. I think it’s his vulnerability.. which is perhaps even worse 🥴

WeatherwaxOn · 17/11/2021 11:30

@MrsAvocet

I've been wondering whether I dare confess, but for me it's Michael Portillo. I know. I'll get my coat...
That you, Victoria?Grin
Redannie118 · 17/11/2021 11:31

@malificent7 Nothing wrong with Rik Mayall. His characters were all deliberately nasty, in RL he was a very beautiful man. So much charisma and talent too. Saw him live a few times and audiences just adored him.
